I will never look at a Disney Bus Driver the same way again.  Respect to you all.

I have always had the utmost respect and appreciation for the bus drivers at Disney.
After finding your channel, I do so more than before.❤
Thank you for making the magic!

I really hate lights like that...and there's many in my area where I live.
50 cars (busses) barreling towards an intersection at speed, and 1 silly car trips the light right at the worst moment and everyone has to slam on their brakes or run it.
A pity that those lights aren't smart to determine those 50 cars should pass, then let the single car go.

He's out here causing CHAOS on these Florida streets! Lol

When I was younger, I had no fear of driving any vehicle. I worked a few summers for a municipal service department.  Drove trucks ranging from pickups to snowplow/dump trucks. Now that I am older, I don’t like driving anything I can’t see out of the back or doesn’t have a reverse camera.   I give you high regard, driving a bus requires a lot of skill.

That's one job I would not want at Disney. Kudos to you sir for keeping us safe! 😊

I have so much for all wonderful bus drivers in WDW. Getting us safely to the parks at all hours. The buses get so full and noisy at times. You guys and gals keep going. Always smiling. Thank you

Sounds kind of similar to the testing we go through as pilots. Stuff happens on checkrides some times. The retest in our world only has to be on the items that were unsatisfactory. You get credit for everything that was in standard. Interestingly, if the examiner tells you that it's unsat, you can agree right there & then to continue the test. That would be like continuing to the breakdown procedures even after blowing the redlight. The examiner does not have to offer that option, as some people are understandably not in the right headspace after being told unsat. It's still a failure on your pilot records, but the benefit is it would make your retest shorter, as you can check off more items. There is a time limit to this, after 60 days expires you need to do the entire test again.

Glad it all worked out for you! I can’t imagine how difficult a yellow light can be in a big ass bus!

When those things happen, it’s just a way to help us stay humble.
We’re not perfect and these things need to happen to keep us grounded. 😊

As a monorail driver, I committed a procedural safety violation which, even though it was a situation with zero guest or cast member involvement, I was terminated. In hindsight, it was the right thing for them to do. I miss working for Disney. This was 40 years ago, and I certainly wouldn't have the wonderful life I have now, but I often wonder "what if......".

All the respect!  Glad it all worked out, appreciate all the bus drivers, thanks!

I was a cast member working in the monorail back in 2011. There used to be a gate separating the express off loading ramp from the loading ramp. Back then there was a little gate to allow guests to only crossover to the loading ramp for the resorts line. I was put in charge of that gate to make sure no one was hopping the fence or didn't enter without permission. One Karen decided she and her family were going to plant themselves in front of that gate to see the fireworks and make my life miserable. I courteously asked if they could please move further down and not block the gate. They originally complied but then I heard the Karen yell HELL NO and proceed to return to block the gate, curse me out and try to demean me as much as possible. Even taking my smiling picture. They refursed to move and I was forced to call security to see if they would. Security called a manager whom proceeded to walk them into the park without having to go through security. I told the woman that she was not being a good example for her children and wished her and her family to have a magical day. ;) Needless to say this sealed my fate. I didn't mind because I was just working there until I found a business to invest in, which I did shortly thereafter. I have been retired for four years now. One entitled customer can ruin any castmember's day. If I see it happening I will publicly shame them as a guest myself with no fear of repercusions. :)

Ending up selling balloons on Main Street has me cracking up 😂😂😂

I also had Troy, during the pre-trip inspection I almost messed up by forgetting one check. When I got to the other side it hit me and I told him that I thought that I had verbally missed a check but told him that there were no issues with the item. Bottom line was that if I had not told him and made the correction it would have been my only ding, ended with 100%.

Great story. Thanks for sharing. I'm in the "writing test"stages currently of getting my CDL.  I've got a long ways to go. But i'm confident I will succeed. Your story has been motivational.

Great story my friend, wow! That can be very intense especially that second time. Glad you made it. Yeah that is pretty tricky when you come up to a light.

I think a safer bet at Disney for you would be the boat transportation.  No traffic worries, fewer  connection points, and less stress.

Holy cow, how stressful! Glad it worked out for you in the end! Love the video!

Hey Icky! What a story, I always make sure to thank the bus drivers when we go, but this really makes you appreciate them so much more and what they went through to get to where they are. This sounds very intense and intimidating! Hope to be back down there next year with annual passes again!
