I really like watching someone who has less experience with the genre reacting. Always so genuine

"Don't ban me, they sayin' some crazy shit sometimes". That pretty much sums up Billie's lyrics on every album lol

"theres 5 songs left they could fall off" I cracked up at this because this is my all-time favorite album and i know they didnt fall off

Dude, the singer is bi he is no homophobic lmao

American idiot is a concept album about a young man called Jimmy who starts to hate the political and social landscape of America. The album is from the point of view of Jimmy as he reinvents himself as Jesus of suburbia. The entire album takes you on his journey and there’s even a broadway musical of the album which takes you through the story of Jimmy in more depth, playing the songs of the album where the band had originally intended

i think there’s something so crazy about how he points out the album’s similarities/influence to newer artists bc the political themes of this album are even more relevant rn 20yrs later

Can't believe there are people out there who never heard at least Boulevard or Wake Me Up When September Ends before. Those were some of the hardest kickoffs we got to the 21st century, went up and down every radio station. Those songs have aura.

I grew up listening to this, i remember listening to it in middle school when things started to get fucked up, i would skateboard to this album, man i loved it.

"I feel like even the guitar sounds a little sad" what a cool thing to say haah!!

1:08:40 "All in a row" is how this album is meant to be listened to. It's a singular composition. All those callbacks throughout Homecoming bring everything together for the finale

"Did they not have PR training in the 90's" bro this came out in the 2000's.

There’s a consistent theme of both rage and love

Enema of the state by Blink 182 is a great album to peep if you like this. Or Three cheers for sweet revenge by mcr

welcome to the world of tre cools drumming

I've heard multiple critics make the claim that Letterbomb is the best song Green Day ever released .

I saw these guys live in 2005 in Canada and it was the most amazing show ever. There had to be at least 50,000 people in one big field with a stage. This album is generational.

Watching the band live this past year, Wake Me Up’s “twenty years has gone so fast” hit like a brick. Twenty years of the GOAT album.

this album was the soundtrack of my entire childhood fr i grew up listening to this. this spoke alot to me when i was 14-16,  even at 29 listening to this brings be back to those long summer days after school.

This song is explicit and at the same time vague enough for the wrong group to think Green Day is on their side. You can either learn more about Green Day in particular or punk rock in general to know on which side of the line they are.
