4 days inside a general dabba.
Seat toh chhodo, khade hone ki bhi jagah nahi thi.

My team took India’s longest train journey from Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari in the general coach.

And what I saw stayed with me.

⁃ The washroom was completely jammed. Right outside it, a man was sleeping because there was simply no other space left in the coach.
⁃ People were adjusting wherever they could, on the floor, near the gates, and sometimes literally on top of each other.
⁃ Logon ne bataya ki ₹1,000 ki Tatkaal ticket ₹2,000 tak mein bikti hai, while general coaches have been reduced.
⁃ ₹100 ka gamcha kisi ke liye jhula ban jaata hai. Kabhi-kabhi woh bhi khul jaata hai, aur insaan seedha neeche aa jaata hai.
⁃ A Class 12 pantry boy works through the night. His father’s cancer treatment took away his earnings, and now he works to educate his younger brother.

A TT chased sleeping passengers in the general coach and asked them for their ticket numbers.
But when my team member said, “Sir, I have a seat in Second AC,” he didn’t even ask to see the ticket.

That made me wonder, kya dignity bhi paise aur class ke hisaab se milti hai?
