I’m nearly 78 but I remember M&S canned chicken curry when it was 10 bob a tin. Much better recipe than the current version. Nowadays buy chicken in white sauce and adding whatever you like to curry it. 1 can does me 4 meals so it’s not so expensive.
I like the vindaloo curry from Asda, when you can get it, as gareth says "Mmmmmmmm" like the new kitchen Gareth i just think the old kitchen was more cosy but the new one is very nice, the kitchen cupboards colour is very nice.
I’m impressed by neither having artificial flavours or additives. I’d never have even thought about having tinned curries but that fact attracts me. As an added flavour to my low carb meals needing a lazy approach, sounds good. 😌
45% of your subs have viewed this so far ( I am looking a few days later) . Very commendable. Well, I have never eaten a tin of curry and doubt I will looking at the video. Stick to the chilled ones but I like what you are doing .
The Asda curry has rapeseed oil (if not cold pressed) is a cheap and unhealthy oil. Also they are bulking with modified maize starch which your body wil turn to unhealthy sugars. I would spend the extra and get the M&S one.
Raw beef prices have gone up by 50% for all in the time period 2020-2025. That's the main reason the M&S can has increased in price. The price is also down to the ingredient quality. The Asda despite being smaller has much more fat, over 50% salt, more sugar, more carbs & more saturates. While having less fibre, protein. Looks like a very different quality of ingredients. I did wonder if you could taste the difference. If I was looking for a cheap meal I would try the Asda but I would prefer the M&S to be sat in my cupboard.
Never had a tinned curry and now in wondering what I've missed out all my life. Would love to see more comparisons like this, M&S ingredients list looked a fair bit better. Not sure £2 better though
Thanks for this video . Our local Asda was selling off the Beef Madras featured in the video for ...... wait for it ....67p a can !!! Wasn't selling as fast as their other tinned curry ranges .... so have bought ....18 cans !!!
