Tony Ray Tiger Moth :Adding the engine part 8

Mark Croucher RC

This model to me is crying out for a nice four stroke engine to provide the power, so that's what is going in.

YouTuber Cliff Harvey is also building this kit I can highly recommend that you take a look. TONY RAY 1.5M TIGER MOTH
The kit is available from the UK distributors, Model Shop Leeds: https://www.modelshopleeds.co.uk/cata....
Alternatively check out the full range of Tony Ray models here: https://www.tonyraymodels.com/. NOTE: If you're in the USA or Australia Tony Ray now has FREE SHIPPING!
The build instructions for all of Tony's models can be downloaded here: https://www.tonyraymodels.com/col.jsp...

I'm becoming addicted to watching other people build RC planes!

It's great. I don't end up with any glue on my fingers or the carpet! Happy wife.

Great build, Mark! One day i'll take the plunge on a biplane.

Enjoying this build, like the way you approach things, keep it coming 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Very nice work, Mark. On many Tiger Moths there was a corrugated stepping plate on top of the cowling to allow the pilot (or ground crew) to stand on it while putting the fuel in the wing tank. This makes the Tiger look really cool.

Nicely done!

Nice progress!

It seems that cowl is rather delicate, I have myself on several occasions used servo rubber grommets inserted into the cowl mounting holes and found them to be effective in extending a cowl’s longevity so if you can accommodate them in your installation they may prove useful.

I also wanted to thank you for your suggestion to use UHU POR for canopy bonding, as I viewed on one of your videos. I have bonded two canopies with it and found it works fantastic. I wish I had known about it years ago 😊

Does it have right and down thrust built in or have you had to add a little?

You're getting there and solving all the problems, well done. That cowling is a real disaster area, very poorly designed and really lets an otherwise great kit down. Hopefully Tony will take action from the problems both of you had. It would have been destroyed after a heavy landing without your modifications.
