Love your channel, great content. Can't wait for your next build series. I am 82 years old and I still have an Enya 19 Glow engine that I got for my 12th birthday. As it was my only engine for many years it powered numerous scratch built control line models. Finally after saving all my pocket and Xmas money I bought a Keil Kraft Spectre Kit, what a lovely looking plane, flew like a dream. You have inspired me to get my old engines out and give them a good clean using your method. Apart from the original Enya 19 I have a couple of 5cc OS Max engines, some 049 Cox's, an Enya 21 in a Kyosho Land Jump 4 wheel drive off-road buggy and a 2.5cc Thunder Tiger Marine Engine in a RC speed boat. The Land Jump and the speedboat are going to be restored for my 10 year old grandson. Your channel has given me the push I needed to get started.

Hi Mark, your channel is really growing in content you offer so much in the way of aeromodelling, and especially restoring those lovely old / rare engines. Keep them coming please.

If I may add another story. A friend gave me a penny slot garage find. Took a lot of fettling to get it running. Beware using heat on crankcase - exhaust studs are soft-soldered!
I gifted mine to a wonderful gent who now owns the ED name. Having also designed abd re-designed ED engines back in the day, he has a collection of every ED engine - bar one!  Now he has the lot. 👍

Good morning Mark. I very much enjoy watching your videos on restoring these vintage engines, and what a great piece of aeromodelling history. I sometimes wish I had kept my engines that would now be classed as vintage.

Great to see EDs first engine, they were a firm of ex wartime engineers who pooled thier resources to create one of Englands great  Hobby companies.Radio gear, boat engines and the famous aero diesels ,amazing after best part of a century they still work with a bit of love.
Great video,so informative about ghe serial no

Hi Mark nice to see old engines being rejuvenated. I used to own an ed racer and my favourite one was the ed hunter marine  purchased direct from ed in surbiton Surrey.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hi , Mark . The E D Mk II was a good substitute for an Ohlsson 23 spark engine that early on was a side port also . They were both designed to run on 11 D 4 P props and produced similar power . The E D engine might have been slightly heavier , but it did not have to carry all the weight of the spark engine's batteries and heavy coil . Regards   Allen Wale

That is going to make a nice engine when you have worked your magic Mark thanks for posting

Nice job Mark. I heard the case was made from RR  Merlin pistons …. ED was situated next to a WWII plane graveyard. Coukd also be bits of Heinkel in there too!

Good to see.  Wonderful old engines that will turn a large prop and power a surprisingly large model.  Looking forwards to seeing you make the conrod.

Nice to see you doing something with it Mark , shame about the scratch marks that would mess with my head too 👍🏻

MARK I HAD AN ED COMPERTITION SPECIAL  2 CC AS LATER CALLED.   NOT FAST ENOUGHF FOR MY BOATS. . EXCELLENT FOR FREE FLIGHT.

What a nice old engine, never seen a comp head like that. I've worked on very old briggs engines with buggered up flat blade screws. I wanted to save them but, before I touched a file to the bur I used a small ball peen hammer & a drift to shape it again as best as I can before removeing  any material dressing it with a file. They look alot better if I take that extra step, you can hardly tell they were damaged vs removeing more material fileing the burs off. I was also going to suggest dico nyalox drill brushes before you said the word patina.😁 They are nylon bristle drill brushes with abrasives suspended in the nylon & come in 3 grits. I really like them for metal prep & can also be really gentle & flexable leaveing a very fine burnished metal finish. I like to use them for carbs & fine brass parts, also model engine cases if its not a special one like yours......✌👍
