Now for some fun facts:
1. While this is "The Dark Ages" this game actually takes place after Doom 1, 2, and Doom 64. So on Earth, things like Cheetos do exist. They just don't likely exist on THIS planet where Doom Guy is now located. It also explains why there's advanced tech, and why Doom Guy doesn't talk with a "medieval" accent.
2. This version of Doom Guy (unlike Doom 2016) is aware of what's going on and is more obsessed with killing demons. However, I like to think that by the end of his adventures that he has here and further down the line (leading up to 2016) he becomes so bored that killing demons is just rote, and he no longer even notices he's killing demons.
3. Lots of in references: Boom (Choo Choo Charles), I can do this all day (Captain America, cuz... shield), knees being powder (Hollow Knight), counting kills (LOTR)
4. My wife came up with the general idea for our opening one-liner to be "Ready. Set. Go." I originally was just gonna say "Sup?" but after Doom Guy talked about timing his kills, my wife said "Maybe he should say 'Star the timer' or something?" And I changed it up to Ready, set, go. But without her input, it would've been less cool.
5. A shorter episode, but I wanted to set the stage sort of for what is to come.
