Love that you are showing how to use your canned potatoes, I feel like everyone shows how to can them, but almost no one shows what they look like after and how to use them. Before I saw this video, I actually started making a video showing both what they look like and how to use them, then I happened upon your video, thanks.

I like to mash the potatoes add a little onion and some seasonings. Roll them in corn flake crumbs and fry them as potato pancakes and of course you have to have gravy

My wife makes an amazing potato soup!!! And wow! The peek inside your cabinet was enlightening.... I really like what you've done with the measuring spoons! I think i found another weekend project to help her improve our kitchen! Your channel is non-stop practicality!!! Love it! Did you get a haircut?? See ya next time! =)

I actually roast my canned potatoes the most lol, and I just drain them, throw them in a bag, and add oil, shake them and pour them out singly onto a pan and roast they turn out so good. I agree the higher temp is necessary.

I can't believe there isn't any butter in your mashed potatoes. 🧈😢

I really enjoy your videos. You're a very good teacher, and I love that there's no music or such in the background. Thank you!

my Granny used to make us kids "potato pancakes " for breakfast on weekends . I miss her.

I could eat a bowl of mashed potatoes for supper and be just as happy as can be! 😁

My smoke alarm would have gone off a long time before! I was getting nervous watching this

I've never home canned potatoes (we had a root cellar and they kept fine all winter) what surprised me is the fact they aren't mushy like I thought they'd be.

Okay, I am going to go cook supper now; all of that food looks so good!

Our favorite use for canned potatoes is to make a single layer of them all around a meatloaf. We are a family of two, so we do a small meatloaf in an 8 by 8 glass pan, which fits in the toaster oven, and there is lots of room for the potatoes. They cook in the grease from the meatloaf, absorbing flavor, and browning. By the way, I'd like to know the name of that little tool you used to pop off the lid from your jars, and where to get one. I love your channel, it's like having a friendly neighbor show me ways to cook.

Thank you for this video! I canned potatoes last year, and so far I've only used 1 jar (I made fried taters by browning in butter). I think potato salad will be a great idea for jar #2 🙂 (Maybe some 'loaded' potato soup for jar #3??)

Have you tried using a cornstarch slurry to coat your roasted potatoes? This is what America's test kitchen recommends for crispy roasted potatoes.

I boil the canned potatoes for a few minutes as if I were boiling them to begin with but kess time. Then i drain and let sit for a few minutes, then mash per usual. They turn out just like fresh boiled and mashed potatoes.
