Don't forget food for ur pets as well.

As a Husband and a Father of 3 Girls. Don't forget female sanitary products either. Good video aswell 💪

A british berkfeld water filter will be the most important thing in your house. I can't believe people think a constant supply of thousands of litres of potable water converted from streams, rivers, puddles and rain isn’t worth a couple of hundred quid. That and a 50 quid rocket stove.
I was in Spain last year when the entire grid went down for 36 hours. No phones, no electricity, no fuel pumps, no tv, no internet, no traffic lights, no water pressure, no shops, no tills, no fridges, no radio....nothing.
Trust me it's like nothing you can imagine. People were literally wandering around looking lost. It was like a Netflix apocalypse film, and it happened so very very quickly. I was actually sitting in a solicitor's office when it all went down.
As a footnote everyone immediately also thought about security even with a couple of close neighbours blockading  the end of our road off with 3 cars to prevent opportunist thieves raiding our properties. There were no alarms and no method of contacting police. Everyone in our neighbourhood felt EXTREMELY vulnerable in the silent darkness. Have a means of protecting yourself and your property. That might sound very dramatic but wait until the lights all go out, your house is in total darkness and silence, your phone doesn’t work....you'll know what I mean....

If resilience is a concern then don't forget that health and fitness are also vitally important parts of the mix.

Basically it is the Govt saying that they will no longer support the civil population in a crisis.

Something I never see as part of prepping is a hot water bottle? If you have a gas stove and a camping kettle you have warmth with a hot water bottle!

......*garden solar lights*...are a much safer idea than of candles......

Stocked up my family member in the uk, spent $24 in asda which worked out to be around £18, 12 large bottles of water, 10 tins of 5x spaghetti with sausages, 5x beef mince with onion in gravy, 2kg bag of rice. He has a mini rice cooker 200w with a 300w/hr power station that can do 300w output with its own 100w solar panel, he has a first aid kit, water filter in a drinks bottle, lantern usb rechargeable, torch, usb aa battery recharger and 4 aa rechargeable, usb heated blanket, small solar wind up radio. The only addition I will add is a small gas camping stove to heat the tinned food up.

Re, candles and standing on a plate. You can buy mirrored candle plates which increase the light by way of reflection.

YOU ARE YOUR OWN FIRST RESPONDER!! Exactly that!
You need to look after yourselves.  Don't rely on anyone. Just believe that NO ONE IS COMING! You can't go wrong with that attitude.

Remember tell no one what you have stored. Not to be selfish, but if they didn't see it coming they are not your problem.

Soak Pasta in water overnight it’s soft & ready to eat no gas or leccy needed

tea and dried milk powder and sugar
you cannot underestimate a good cup of tea

Another thing to consider - the boredom, especially if you have kids. Pick up some card and board games from a charity shop or Home Bargains, maybe some books if you usually use a kindle.

I’ve been prepping for the last six months buying a little every month and have enough sensible food for three people for months and enough water for two weeks. We were horrified at the amount of water you need. 42 liters per person for the two weeks to allow for minimal washing and other needs. We have that stored around the house, a water barrel in the garden, water purifation tablets and water filter. Watching channels like this are invaluable because you could never think of everything you need by yourself.

This is for anyone, everywhere worldwide. Never stop prepping food, always rotate. Feel good at a month and keep adding. Now I wish I pushed harder for 6 months to a year. Minimum one gallon of water per person and pet.

Good vid. I think the key with the government advice here is to understand that they bas the 3 days on them being able to get you more support by three days, not that you won't need food/water/energy etc for longer. As we've seen with small scale disruptions (power cuts in Cornwall and water sanitation issues in Devon both quite recently), those alone lasted more than a week for some. Imagine if it was a whole county, region or country - I wouldn't trust 3 days being enough.

If you fill milk cartons with water and then put a head touch round it facing inwards, it will become a lantern

If it's in the middle of winter..pop a Tent on top of your Bed..some pop up Tent...will contain more heat and the Homeless do this inside buildings all the time..set a Tent up...it will make it exciting for the kids too..

You touched on the issue of a non functioning toilet. I had to smile as you  covered the issue as tastefully as you could. The truth is this one issue will impact a family hugely. If you have one or two full rainwater tubs outside you can flush your loo with buckets. As long as you can chuck any kind of water down it will solve the problem...😊
