How You Spin It

Thanks for stopping by to watch us continue our journey through the Arctic Monkeys catalog. In this episode we listen to their second album released, "Favourite Worst Nightmare". This album picks up where "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" left off, but with a darker tone and more refined mix. We hope you enjoy listening with us!

This is probably my favourite album from them then its humbug and then probably the first one. They’re whole discography is fucking awesome

''this album is alot darker in tone than last album'' and theres humbug next where its somehow even MORE darker than this haha. Cant wait for humbug reaction!

Great reaction. Fun fact: The opening organ part to 505 is sampled from the 'final shootout' scene from The good, The Bad and The Ugly

I think the reason they're not so popular in the US is because a lot of their lyrics are very UK culture specific.

This album made me buy a bass guitar when I was 15 and I bought the first 2 albums on cd for my car. I'm from Manchester which is a few hills away from Sheffield so Tharctics are close to my heart 🤟🏼 you guys are cool too so keep doing your thing

Thank you for your reactions, hope you do HUMBUG.

Yes lads👏 always an interesting listen this one, can still hear the same youthful voice of Alex Turner (before he starts exploring different vocal styles), but the spooky experimental Humbug stuff is definitely creeping in instrumentally. Old Yellow Bricks is a tune.

i agree, very similar to humbug in the way that its quite dark and gothic. Love it!!!

14:02 Only ones who now track is guitar using a slide (metal or glass tube that goes over your finger that slides up and down the strings instead of pressing your fingers down. And possible a E-bow (electric bow) that constantly rings the string it's over using magnetic fields.

We require Humbug next.
More lyrical so might need a closer listen during the songs, just a thought 👍

Listen to the last shadow puppets "the age of the understatement" It's Alex Turner and Miles Kane.

I must not be with the crowd when I got the next album humbug I was disappointed because the first two albums where the sort of sound I loved. Arctics to me changed after this album with only a few tracks from albums after this I liked but every song on the first and second album I like.
