I don't know if I agree with you on your analysis on the last scene with robby. I've been where Robby is there. I don't think it was the conflict of not being able to apply his own words to himself, I think it was the pain of hope. He was obviously planning to die on his sabbatical. When you've been planning your own death for that long, turning that corner and deciding to live instead is painful.

He looks so conflicted not because he doesn't believe the words apply to him, but he's conflicted precisely BECAUSE he KNOWS they apply to him as well.

It's hard to put it exactly in to words, but it's like the pain of finally warming up your frozen hands. It's relieving, but it also hurts so much. That scene really, really got me.

I aways have issues with analysis of a show that misses significant parts of the story.  Monica was NOT a retired nurse - she was a former medical clerk. Before computers, her job was to keep the paperwork in order and make sure it got where it needed to be.  That's a far different job and would require a far different personality than a care provider would have. It also means that her job description was eliminated by technology, she was not fired for a failure to adapt.

I think Monica was actually a very good addition. Usually "boomer characters" are only men or full blown Karen's ir they have that "tough but maternal" side. It was refreshing to have an older woman that didn't have to be maternal and was allowed to just be bitchy. I feel like The Pitt does a great job in wirting female characters that are flawed instead of making them all migthy and perfect

56:24  I have to correct you here. Al-Hashimi’s AI software is NOT the same as the dictation software. The show as a whole NEVER endorsed the AI software. Dictation is standard. The AI made repeated mistakes.

as a night shifter i need more ellis walsh shen mateo and abbot next season

The idea of people being swayed by Langdon because he's conventionally attractive is hilarious. I never felt sorry for what he did, and it's funny the one person that reported him and also doesn't feel sorry for him or in any way wants to forgive him is another woman that decentered men and is gay. Santos I've always loved you, never change ya freaking queen

having grown up with TOO MANY trump supporters in monica's age range.... they wrote her perfectly. in fact, i think they were actually very tame with their representation. In real life she would have made a racist comment about jivadi, not just insulting her or her age and calling her a snowflake.

the things id do for a nightshift season.....

I would do all sorts of ungodly things for a night shift spin-off

my favorite characters are Donna, Rabbi and Langthorne

Bro who tf is Donna 😭😭

I actually agree with most of these rankings, and a lot of the reasonings. I will say, Mel's arc was a little tough for me because it was hard to see her struggle with the deposition and how it affected her. I can't wait to see more of Emma.

My mom grew up a mile from The University of Pittsburgh. So many touches and landmarks used. Wholey's Fish Market is one. "The River" is Rivers Casino.

The very first ever scene? I know that ambulance is going over The Allegheny River to North Shore. The destination is Allegheny General Hospital. The entrance way to the hospital? Actual door to the real Allegheny General.

My favorite line sold me on "The Pitt."

"If you jump on my shift That's just rude, man."

I was trained as a Social Worker. Dark humor is the way. One psychiatrist I knew said that difference between staff and patients was that the staff had badges.

"The patients get better and we get worse."

Langdon was a real discovery and remains the main draw for me in the show.

The zoo comment was genuinely the only helpful thing Ogglevi said in that entire exchange. Very obese patients have been taken to Zoos for imaging when no nearby equipment could handle them because Zoos often have to care for very large animals. That part, ironically, was the only one where he was trying to find a helpful solution. Everything else was a quip

abbot and langdon deserve S tier for sure

I'm looking forward to seeing how they expand on the character of Dr Ellis next season ❤️

loving the dr. al-hashimi appreciation! i agree with everything you said about her!

Best characters: Langdon, Abbot, and McKay 🔥✨
