The 996 gen is so underrated, i always thought they look cool 👌

I'm just hoping someday someone brings you a RUF with the 4.0 Mezger

5:08 That guy probably was thinking that you were trolling him :D

The car sounds so so beautiful!

This is my dream car, in my opinion the most beautiful Porsche.

Thats a really good sound and well done staying calm and composed with the loose steering wheel and no ABS

The sound is so good. Why do we not have this anymore, just pops & bangs mods...

Damn, nothing beats the OG Mezger!

I wasn’t expecting the tunnel pull 😂😂😂

I was fortunate enough to buy a 996.2 GT3 a few years ago. It’s an absolutely amazing car, and I plan to keep driving it for the rest of my life and pass it down to my son.

Had the pleasure to sit besides Attilla in that car once, it's a heavy beast in normal traffic without all the help that other cars have. But the entire experience is totally amazing.

What a glorious sound WOT 🤤

I have a ‘98 cable throttle 996 C2 manual for 10 years now. Had the engine rebuilt with steel bores, no cats, headers, sports mufflers, KW suspension, GT3 water pump, low temp thermostat, sports seats, IPD plenum, Helmholtz delete etc etc. it’s such a blast to drive. I realize it’s not a Mezger GT3, but this is as close as it gets within a reasonable budget. Plus I don’t have to worry about driving a €100k car.

I have a 996 gt3 mk1 and it's a real joy to drive, especially with the fabspeed intake and scart exhaust. That beast screams, and is very tail happy. Thank god, no electronics in it 💪🏻

OMG, I love the noise of that engine!

6:22 Lovely Alfa GTV!

I had a 2003 996 GT2, and it's still my favorite car I ever owned. It was the last of the cars that had zero electronic nannies, just ABS and nothing more. Once you got the factory-induced understeer dialed out and got the ride height to Euro spec, it handles incredibly well.

I used to track it at Laguna Seca, Thunderhill Raceway and Sonoma Raceway; at the time I was a race driving instructor for various local track-day organizations, and I was the only GT2 on the track, surrounded by dozens of GT3 and GT3 RS, ZO6, Vipers, etc. I was around 1.3 seconds a lap faster at Laguna Seca than the other instructors in the GT3 RS, and my GT2 had the reliability of an Anvil; I could go out for 20 laps, then pull into the pits and a second driver would get into it and do another 20 laps, and the water and oil temperatures were the same as they were when I was driving down the freeway at 65 mph; it was rock solid.

Had to sell the car to get the funds together to buy a new house, but I wish I'd kept it. I miss that freaking car SO much!

I prefer the old style of thumbnails with a image of his reaction on the lap than those pictures, just saying

You should get a 996 GT3 RS. You get them for under 200K and it's probably the best RS Porsche has ever made. Put some ultra high tech coilovers on it, Nankang CRS and you probably have the best track tool ever

Unglaublich, wie aus einem Crash ein Porsche 996 GT3 wieder aufgebaut wurde! 😲🏎 Die Arbeit und Detailverliebtheit am Nürburgring ist einfach beeindruckend.
