You don't need a Porsche disclaimer on a Porsche channel 🤣

I used to not like the headlights - until I ignore what other people told me to think - and it's the one I grew up with as a kid and it's truly my favourite.

I don’t really turn my head when a modern Porsche comes by my house. I turn my head when I see one of this era. So good.

996 are excellent. It’s just the standard slop on the internet to criticise them

I’ve got one of these, had it from new and still every drive is just so special, as you said several times it is so analogue…. No PASM no traction control just an LSD and bravery!! For me they are all I want from a GT car - circa 400bhp and 1380kgs and most importantly the proportions mean you can have fun on almost any road and find a parking place to fit it!!! I do think the 997 was an improvement in lots of areas and more “grown up” and a better interior, but there is something so raw about a 996.2 GT3

Whats ironic is these 996.2 GT3s are very expensive in Australia sadly, because of how rare they are. That being said, THIS was the first 911 that Clarkson drove on Top Gear that he ACTUALLY loved. Says a lot

Owned 2 of these spent loads of time on road and track they are wonderful. So sensitive to setup, most bad ones just have awful geometry. My fave GT3 by miles and the 3.6 Metzger is bombproof

996’s are just looking better by the month at this rate

I have had my 996 4s for 9 months now and am a serial seller of cars on a very regular basis. I can honestly say this is the most rewarding car I have ever owned. It is aging really well the wide back end is such a great aesthetic. Its great fun tinkering finding specialists to help you out and refine the car researching and sourcing parts endless hours of fun

That 911 looks a beauty. 996s are looking so much better as they age. I can remember when they were mid £30s.

I've had my 996.2 GT3 for 6 years now. The drive always puts a smile on your face. The sound, the feel, the steering it's just so raw and dialled in. I do half a dozen track evenings in it and I always get great reactions. The feedback, grip and rewards are not the same in most cars. It has an OEM Porsche exhaust which has been breathed on by Gert Carnawel in Belgium and it has to be the best sound track of any car. All IMO of course.
