Four Audi RS cars. One track. One question: which is fastest?
In this ultimate Audi RS Track Battle, we line up four very different takes on the modern Audi performance car: the RS3, RS4, RS5 and RS6 Performance.
The RS3 is the smallest and lightest car here, powered by Audi’s legendary 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo, with huge pace, quattro traction and a reputation for punching well above its weight.
The RS4 Avant brings a very different formula, combining everyday estate practicality with a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, quattro all-wheel drive and the kind of real-world performance that has made it one of Audi Sport’s most iconic all-rounders.
Then there’s the new RS5, representing the latest generation of Audi performance, with more technology, more complexity and plenty to prove against both the older RS4 and the cars sitting either side of it in the range.
Finally, the RS6 Performance is the heavyweight of the group: a brutally fast super-estate powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, with over 600hp and the sort of straight-line speed that should make it the obvious favourite.
But on a tight track, outright power isn’t everything.
Each car gets the same circuit, the same conditions and the same driver as we find out whether the mighty RS6 can justify its position at the top of the range, or whether one of the smaller RS cars can spring a major surprise.
