To be honest mainline models in general suffer from the achilles hill problem of split gears and split axels , it’s a shame as the body shells of their steam and diesel models for their age are very good . All the best .Richard .

I had a Highflyer as a kid lovely model, great with the illuminated headcode boxes. I added extra weight which made a positive difference to the running. Good to see these models live on

An excellent result with both. During the video I did wonder if those who made the models expected them to last this long. It is surprising how old models can be rejuvenated.

Great work! I recently recommissioned my dad's old mainline warship using the 3d printed gears and a dcc chip, was amazed how well it ran on dcc.

I have Highflyer. I bought the 3d printed gears and they got mine fixed. Great video. 📹 I enjoyed watching. Cheers Paul.

Got 4 mainline battlewagons. That weathering is pretty good indeed. They are good looking models but the gubbins are terrible. Great, helpful video.

Hi again. I have a model of Kelly & had to replace both final drive cogs, too. I also used some 3D printed examples that seem to be OK.
Both models seem to have responded well to DCC fitting, so I might try that myself.
Your weathering looks great to me. The big mistake many people make is to overdo it.
