IMHO she was one of the most beautiful women to ever appear on TAGS

She's still around as of 10/5/26 (90 yrs old). 😊

Of all the girlfriends Andy had, I can’t believe he ended up with Crump the grump.  She was my least favorite.

She was a wholesome beauty.

Maybe he wasn’t straying at that time and he really was spooked by the way he felt. Just spit balling.

I liked Peggy the best I wish she would have stayed 😊

She was very lovely. I wondered this myself. Thanks for the fun.

If they had kept the character, the writers would have had to come up with plots for episodes that involved both nursing and sheriffing - not an easy challenge.   Helen Crump as Opie's teacher made that job a lot easier.   That's my take - if I was involved in the production of the show.    I would have eliminated the character for that reason.

Of course, I could be wrong.   Thanks for the video, Bob!

She was gorgeous!

Who could be spooked from a kiss coming from her?

She was just one of MANY Mayberry alumni to have also appeared on Three's Company with Don Knotts (she played Cindy's aunt with a farm in one episode!).

Almost twenty years later, Sue Ane Langdon also played Cindy's Aunt Becky on Three's Company in the season six episode, "Urban Plowboy". She was caught literally rolling in the hay with Don Knott's character Mr. Furley.

I could never understand why TV shows (not just TAGS) make so many characters disappear without closure.  This was especially true after Howard McNear left.  Suddenly, Floyd was just gone!  They could have said he was visiting relatives (how about the son that was mentioned before, and maybe some grandchildren) and decided to sell the barber shop and move close to his family.  It would have been nice to say something, instead of acting like he never existed.  Especially since it was his failing health that made Howard leave, not because he wanted to.

She did very well in Cheyenne Social Club.

I get the feeling that any actress who had actual chemistry with Andy Taylor was going to be eliminated because that went against everything the show was supposed to be about. It was a comedy first and foremost. Funny that there was none of that with Andy and Helen and she is the one that was chosen to stay. TAGS was a comedy, pure and simple!

It's kinda funny that the Andy Griffith show episode was "Three's a Crowd". Years later she was on an episode of Three's Company!

I liked her. I thought she was cute.

My fondest memory of Sue Ane Langdon was from the 1967 Walter Matthau film, “A Guide for the Married Man,” where she played the Matthau character’s flirtatious neighbor, Irma Johnson.  In that film, one could truly see how attractive, and curvaceous she really was!

There were many guest stars who were too above status for the Andy Taylor character.  No one would have bought the nurse in a town without a hospital where the one doctor came to your house.  The Elie Walker character was about as upscale as would have been believable.  When Elinor Donahue left the show, they fell back on someone who was exactly what you would have expected in Mayberry, a Plain Jane elementary school teacher.

I like guest star spotlight light . It's too bad that the character Mary Simpson didnt work out in the episode threes a crowd. Mary Simpson was a romantic intrest for Andy. Have a great day bob.
