Foreign car specialist here with 30 years experience. Great video but a couple pointers. The A/C condenser DOES NOT need to be removed. There are two screws on the bottom and tabs on the top. It can be separated from the radiator to avoid discharging the HVAC system. It is a little tricky but can be done. Also, at 25:21 in the video, that plastic cover has two slit holes on each side, the A/C condenser has a tab on each side that goes through those holes to keep it from moving. Also, it is a good idea to leave the Auxillary water pump bracket off until the new radiator is installed, makes going in much easier. Hope this helps.

Dang good job!  My 2018 sprung a leak.  I had initially assumed it was a hose, so i ordered a few different ones.  But it seems easy enough to remove everything and check for pressure to see if its the radiator.  Thank you for posting, actually gives me some piece of mind on the simplicity of it.  Ty!!

If you are watching this for a 2018 M550i this is the right video but it’s going to be a couple thing you run into like I did…when removing the AC condenser there will be 2 bolts on the top right hand side of it your see it when you do it easy to remove…also at the bottom of the radiator there will be two trans cooler lines that you will see with green tabs on them you have to get under those lines and put a flathead on both side of the green tabs and push up on the green tabs that will release the hose…after you have everything removed and you are ready to pull it out the right hand side of the radiator is goin to move but not come out you should maybe have a second guy for this part but when you pull up on the radiator the right side is goin to catch on a lil tab that won’t let it slide out have someone under the car while you pull up on the radiator and that person put a flathead in that little gap right in that slot where the radiator is sitting in and force it up and that will release the radiator hopes this helps for someone else

For those wondering, on bottom driver side you need to remove the trans cooler line to lift up the radiator. You DO NOT have to recover freon. Hope this helps

No need to discharge the condenser, it unclips and moves aside. The bottom thing where it gets stuck on the driver side is hard to describe, but need to insert a small socket or Allen wrench to hold that latch. Took me 2.5 hours for the whole job. Good luck.

Thank you so much for this guide, just did the exact same steps for my M550i 2018.

Couple of things for anyone else trying to do this:
-For the metal Strut / brace on top of the radiator fan I used a flathead to get the metal piece on top of the strut up just a bit just to get it off from the locking piece and slid the strut backwards and up. Kind of the same deal putting it back in
-Just like in your video, after getting all the hoses out the only thing in the way of getting the radiator out are the transmission oil cooler lines on the drivers side, you don’t need to take these out. I jammed a flathead in that space you showed in the video to almost push it over toward driver side a couple of mm while pushing up on the radiator from below. This was a pain in the ass.
-I couldn’t see any possible way to do this without taking out the AC compressor, how are some of you guys in the comments doing it?
-Two plastic pieces on the sides come out after taking out the radiator, the longer one goes on the passenger side and the shorter one has almost a platform that the ac compressor connections sit on.

Has anybody done this job without removing the AC condenser and not disconnecting the air conditioning lines? Just wondering.

I have pulled everything off the radiator and unscrewed the base of the radiator from the mount and I even unplugged both transmission lines and the radiator won’t budge from the driver side it’s like it getting hung up on something or something is still connected around the transmission lines or something help!!

I'm pretty sure ac condenser does not need to come off, it makes zero sense that it would be designed that way. Interesting they've moved to plastic tanks on the radiator, my f10 550 has an all aluminum design

I have the same car. The leak was from the radiator. I replaced it after a week. It became another leak from the water pump
