What if the Gospel of Mark was written to be understood on two different levels? This documentary investigates the Messianic Secret, the repeated commands to remain silent, and Mark’s mysterious original ending. Based on the research of Charles Edward Jordan, it asks whether another message has been hiding inside Christianity’s earliest Gospel all along.

Mark’s original ending of the gospel of Mark sounds like the ending of an urban ghost story.😮

Another point that was not brought up is how the "synagogue of Satan" in revelations likely actually refers to Pauline Christians. I believe Elaine Pagels have made a case for this as well:
"I know about the slander of those who say they are Jevvs and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan." - Revelations 2-9
"...those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jevvs though they are not, but are liars" - Revelations 3-9
It wouldn't make sense that it would refer to actual Jevvs, but it would make sense that it would refer to those who pretend/claim to be Jevvs by converting to Greco-Roman Pauline Christianity, but they are not actual Jevvs (they are false and liars).
Ironic that later on Greco-Roman Pauline Christians used such verses to demonize actual Jevvs.

Excellent work. I'll be thinking a great deal on this. I believe it's one of the most worthwhile documentaries you've put out because it plausibly illustrates the level of agenda and symbolism we're dealing with in these documents.

With regard to the verse about Jesus declaring all foods clean, I wouldn't necessarily read that as strong evidence that the gospel is pro-Pauline. As you stated, if this gospel is in fact written on two different levels, the statement may have been aimed at the lowest group in order to further cement their blindness. Jesus says in this gospel that his parables, although preached to everyone, are hidden for most of his audience for the deliberate purpose that they should not be turned from their error and saved. When you think about it, it's really malicious. The gospel writer may be indulging in the same thing here: effectively, "Sure, go ahead and think that if you want to."

Great work Derek, your recent documentaries and in-depth analysis are your best videos really. People love Mark don't they? It's written like a mystery story with lots of hidden clues to get you hooked. A riddle which can leave you feeling frustrated. Or a story which you're told has several meanings and it's up to you to work them out. The later gospel writers 'improved' on it for those who prefer a more conventional narrative.

So is it "Robbing Peter to PAY Paul" which is interesting ... but is it more ACCURATE "Robe--ing Peter to PLAY Paul" - I wonder....

Certainly explains why Marcion wanted a NT only, discarding the Jewish scriptures and procedures such as circumcision.

Brilliance…. I must say the excruciating amount of ads I endured was worth the information provided. They robbed Peter to pay Paul. Great work. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤
