WCW gave us some of the most iconic factions in wrestling history, but for every nWo there were plenty of groups that just never came together the way they should have. In this video, we’re looking at the WCW factions that missed the mark, from ideas that sounded interesting at first to groups that completely fell apart once the bell rang.

Factions covered include the York Foundation, the Desperados, the Dungeon of Doom, the No Limit Soldiers, nWo Hollywood and more, breaking down what these factions were meant to be, what actually happened on TV, and why things didn’t work out the way WCW clearly hoped they would. Some of these had big names attached, some had strong concepts behind them, and a few had both… but something always seemed to go wrong along the way.

Listening instead of watching "Dang, how long are these credits???"

I think I heard the joke here but seriously, putting the word 2000 at the end of a rebranded tag team was surely a death sentence in the late 90s.

The best thing about the York Foundation was how “Richard Morton” was literally just Ricky Morton doing his usual gimmick but calling himself “Richard.” Same ring gear, same glorious mullet, same everything.

The Red Rooster wearing the Red Rooster outfit not being the Red Rooster

Harlem Heat 2000 and the nWo B-Team come to mind.

17:57 The "Old Age Outlaws", Terry Funk, Arn Anderson, Larry Zybysko and Paul Orndorff in the 1980s would have been printing money

If only the Shockmaster hadn't tripped and fell, maybe then the Dungeon of Doom would have defeated Hulk Hogan.

I still remembered the whole "I hate rap" song 25 years later. It just worked!

It's hard to explain the Dungeon of Doom to someone who DID watch the WCW in 1995.

So IRS was the bootleg version of Michael Wallstreet and not the other way around. Mind blown.

It's worth mentioning that Terrence Taylor was credited as "The Computerized Man of the 1990's" and I love that name

I hope he starts the next edition of Worst Factions with a black screen and that end credits song still playing.

The origin story of Team Madness was Macho's midlife crisis.

The Dungeon of Doom made the Power Rangers villains look like the Sinister Six by comparison.

Hearing you describe nWo 2000s is almost exactly like WWE's The Vision. It started off strong, with Bron Breakker taking out Seth Rollins and beginning to make his ascent to the big leagues. He and Bronson Reed were played as dominant muscles in a faction led by Paul Heyman against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. They eventually added Logan Paul and Austin Theory, setting up for a new storyline, until literally every single member got injured, with Bron Breakker being forced back into recovery again after getting injured in his literal return to action by Seth.

Austin Theory is all that's left, and while it looks promising, it's nowhere close to the momentum it started with.
Here's to hoping Austin swims instead of sinks, I genuinely want to see him succeed.
