Icehouse is still going.

They were originally called the Flowers but when they were going to tour the US there was already an American band called Flowers so they changed it to Icehouse which was the title of their first album so it was easier to change the name than relabel everything

Iva Davies and Icehouse were one of my favourite bands back in the day. They had so many great songs.

This song was used as the backing track for a great video showing Australian landscapes - sound quality perfect and it accompanies imagery that gives the song a perfect context.  Worth a watch.

The think I notice about Aussie bands is that nearly all band members sing.  I don't see that in most other western countries.  Musicians in Australia have long known that your voice is another instrument that you get for free.

This is an excellent song from a Fantastic Band💗💗💗💗

I've known Icehouse since the 80s. Their sound electrified me...and still does 👍😊🇩🇪

We had the best pub rock anywhere it was a great time to grow up in Australia

Still sitting in my car on cd. I miss the 80s and Icehouse.  Thanks Joel.

We saw Icehouse last year, and they were just as good as ever. When they did Great Southern Land, it was absolutely brillant and sounded just like the soundtrack..

That’s at the Australian Parliament House in Canberra. It’s the free Australia Day concert that happens every year there. All of Australias best artist play that concert at some point. Most Aussies say they hate Canberra just because politicians gather there for parliament. In reality it’s a great place to live. The most diverse city in Australia, with community events weekly. Diverse food. Museums , science museums, huge library’s and theatres. It’s the best city in Australia to bring up children because every neighbourhood has its own shopping centre, playgrounds and bike paths. The playgrounds are amazing, the dog parks are amazing. So much to do all the time if you want to. And it only has a population of 500k people. So it’s not crowded everywhere you go. They have everything from burnout car shows to ballet. lol

I saw them perform live just a couple of months ago.
Great band with great songs

Love that this was right on the doorstep of our political capital. Just keeping those bastards honest. 💕

Live is always more emotionable

I love 🩷 this song. It's so about Australia 🇦🇺 😁

You should react to Icehouse performing "A Man Of Colours" featuring Michael Paynter. Michael's voice is amazing.

Australia Day outside Parliament House, Canberra, 2005

Icehouse, one of my favourite teenage years band.
Several of their songs are fantastic.

This was back in the day when they had  Australia Day concerts in front of Australian Parliament House...

There was the Yours and Owls concert over this weekend here in my home town. The stage was set on an outcrop with a beach behind stretching off into the distance. I couldn't make it to the concert, but I could hear it from my home. Australian music just moves the soul. Of course I'm biased. When I lived overseas for half a decade, it was the music that I relied on to keep be grounded and tethered back to my home.
