A remote Arctic expedition becomes a nightmare when a team of scientists arrives on an isolated island with a dark World War II past. What begins as a cold-weather research mission quickly turns into a deadly mystery filled with sabotage, hidden identities, Nazi secrets, and a fortune buried beneath the ice.

Donald Sutherland leads this tense adventure thriller alongside Vanessa Redgrave, Richard Widmark, Christopher Lee, Lloyd Bridges, and Barbara Parkins. As the bodies begin to fall and the truth about the old U-boat base comes closer to the surface, one man must decide who to trust before the island claims everyone.

I READ THIS BOOK BY ALISTAIR MACLEAN WHICH WAS PUBLISHED IN 1971 ACTUALLY, and all his other books since the mid fifties. He was such a prolifically and brilliant writer that 17 books of his were made into films, notably, The Guns Of Navarone, Where Eagles dare, etc, etc,etc........This film is exciting and mysterious all the way through and really worth viewing. thanks for download

Fantastic nugget of a gone era. Great actors, no effects, great plot and everything.

Love the old movie stars in this movie. They all look so young. Donald Sutherland, Lloyd Bridges ( Sea Hunt) Vanessa Redgrave, Christopher Lee and Richard Widmark. They all played in movies from the 50’s and 60’s.

I have every means to watch TV, or the newest movies from across the globe and yet I find more joy watching an old movie like this.. on YouTube.
Many thanks, I really enjoyed this (Whole) movie.

This movie proves that you don’t need massive explosions or crazy effects to create something unforgettable. The atmosphere, the acting, and the emotional pressure between the characters were enough to keep me hooked from beginning to end. Every scene felt meaningful.

I get bored with a movie very quickly and I must say, I really enjoyed it. Watched till the end, that says a lot!

What a brilliant film. I love that his father and his crew were vindicated in the end. Great story. Alistair McClean was a terrific writer. I remember my Dad having loads of his books back in the 70s.

Something about those old school movie soundtracks gets me every time. Retro now, but should be brought back. The score was pretty much a character in itself. LOVED it.

Gosh. This is so seventies, the actors, style and dialogue.
Takes me back to.

Can't thank you enough for posting this. I grew up in the 70s reading Alistair Maclean novels and watching these actors in other movies but have never seen this film. Made my day.
