The first OP is the "Meg" of their family. The family takes joy in treating them poorly and downplaying their achievements. Without them there, the family was upset because part of the way they bonded was by siding against OP.

The story with the mom grooming the bf in hs... op mom is14 y older than op bf. It really messed him up bc he vomited. Sounds like mom needs to be in jail

That groomed BF dodged a bullet, honestly. There is no excuse for her worrying about her relationship with her mom, more than worrying about his trauma. Especially with the phrasing "banging my mom is a huge turnoff" being as genuinely disgusting as it is.

I will never understand the people who genuinely "want a war" because they are lowkey bored in their own life. Everytime I hear people's experiences with going through war, it makes me want to cry, how could you casually ever want that? It's disgusting, and I hate any politician who wants to fan those flames because this is never for the people, just pure greed.

On the cat one, the moment OP said that it's weird to show affection towards pets, I went "She has never had a pet before!" And then the thing about her dad and brother just being very unemotional and utilitarian about their dogs came up and I understood completely. She definitely wasn't up to learning how to love a pet and was in the right to break off her relationship over a cat. The boyfriend deserved better

There was an update to the first story! The siblings continued their harassments (texts, bragging about the warning) and trespressed again on op's property. Op went to the police again, and this time had enough evidence to file a restraining order. First the siblings thought that it was a joke, but then they realized that it's wasn’t, and the harassments stopped. Some family members are on Op's side, some still don't understand why op had to go this far, but op doesn’t care about their approval. After all, it ended in a happy ending. Sorry if my English isn't the best, it's not my first language.

The story with the mom sleeping with ops bf is really sad and also disgusting. He was likely groomed and from his reaction traumatized. Who knows if it was just one time. He could be a grooming and SA victim. She should be in jail and never able to work in a high school again. I hope he finds the healing he needs, i hope he is okay. He seemed really traumatized, I mean puking, that is a strong reaction. I think it might have been good for them to go seperate ways, so he hasn’t have to be reminded so much of it all in such a direct way. I would never talk to or trust my mom/dad ever again if they did that.

The first story sounds just like my husband's family. One incident that really stuck with me, was when my husband almost died. Afterward, he was panicking and scared. They all laughed and laughed. They made fun of him for being upset that he was almost killed by electrocution. The sounds that were coming out of him when it was happening almost made my soul leave my body. It sounded like someone was murdering him. They thought it was so funny. They are bullies through and through

I’ve had people legitimately get jealous of my precious beautiful baby boy and someone once was like “so like are you seriously going to put your cat over everyone, you’ll never find anyone being like that” and I said “good, they don’t deserve to be in his presence

My wife grew up on a farm and didn’t understand how I could care so much for a cat. Dogs and cats are apparently considered in the same way as livestock where she came from. Simply there as working animals. She didn’t care about me loving my cat though. Later on my cat got out and was hit by a car. She saw that I was devastated and comforted me while I grieved. Later on she got me a cat. The cat we have now majorly bounded with her. She didn’t even sit on my lap until we’d had her for a year or so. She now understands how much you can love a cat.

Hell nah, I would not be trying to be tactful when breaking it off with someone who wanted me to euthanize my cat to avoid vet bills. "A utilitarian outlook on pets." Wtf does that even mean?? If you only keep them because they're useful, they are not pets. Also, those must have been some of the worst trained and neglected hunting dogs if her father and brother didn't give a shite if they had to put them down. I don't know a single person with hunting dogs that would not sell their own kidney just to make sure those dogs were well taken care of. What an absolutely crazy view on pets.

Ok, I’m asexual and don’t date, but at first when I heard, “way he treats his cat”, I assumed he was abusive to his pet. I would even consider indifference to his pet a red flag, but the OP and family did not love the dogs they grew up with, and to me this makes me regard them as pure trash. I was kicked out of my house when I was young with my dog, and I recently realized that her waking me up whenever guys came into the room we were sleeping in probably saved me from something horrible and traumatic. RIP Misty, I’ll miss you forever.

Three things about Story 8...
1) "my mom is a high school teacher" IS!? As in STILL!? Because that woman shouldn't be ANYWHERE near minors!
2) The mom telling her to break up with him because "he brought back really awful memories" LADY awful memories FOR YOU!? What about him!? YOU slept with a STUDENT!!
3) "the whole banging my mom thing is a massive turn off" The complete & utter LACK of empathy for Derek here from OP.
Like GIRL your mom groomed him & slept with him!! The man got physically ill after being around the mom!! And her response is "yea guys who slept with my mom give me the ick"
I do not like this chick. Like breaking up is the right move but... this chick just makes me mad.
