a cool detail this movie adds to the first one is remember how Alex got really claustrophobic and scared being alone when in the box on the boat well this movie explains why it's cause that boy already had trauma from floating through the sea in a box as a child I just like when sequels do small things like that

I love that King Julien literally popped out of nowhere and became a de facto king by the end of the film and NO ONE questioned it

I've become a dad myself since the last time I saw this movie, so hearing baby Alex calling out for his dad at the beginning of the movie yanks at my heartstrings now, and makes my daddy instincts flare up.

I find this movie genuinely impressive for how it’s able to juggle so many plot lines at once.

Messed up fact:
3:46 When a male lion takes over the respective pride as the alpha, they usually kill all the male cubs of the previous one to avoid future competition.
This makes Makunga's challenge even more twisted tbh

Fun fact: Moto Moto is voiced by Black Eyed Peas leader singer Will.i.am and he sang the traveling song during Alex's dance and the ending

Alicia's reaction to a sound bit she used many times and being so speechless it's like facing Infinite Void was so funny to watch

5:38 Nah, that enthusiasm next to Alicia's model literally tearing up is legitimately jarring

16:45 "Just a peck, a smooch, like you'd kiss your sister" And thus was born the many Memes

Love how concerned Alicia was when Skipper's first response to the Granny surviving was attempted murder

I really love how sweet Melman is across all the movies. Despite being a nervous wreck, he confronts his fears with Gloria all the time. They're literally perfect together!

The dad is voiced by Bernie Mac, may he rest in peace.

I love the story between Melman, Gloria and Moto Moto. Moto Moto loves Gloria only because she’s thick as hell and only finds her fat attractive, but Melman actually cares about her as a person. I also like that a character openly found someone fat attractive for their size even if it’s a shallow character, in the 2000’s J Lo was considered heavyset because of bad body standards back then. These days more people openly prefer bigger people because society has woken up and realized it’s okay.

37:40 - you got to give Alex some props props. He took whatever Teetsi was throwing at full power and walked it off.
Who else can say that.
Hell He squared up with Granny and lived. TWICE.

It's gotten so funny how so many people get taken aback every time a character played Alec Baldwin appears

36:03 Fun fact: Teetsi the lion Alex fights was named after the tsetse fly in Africa that causes the disease African sleeping sickness that kills an estimated 10,000 a year.

If you look really carefully all the zebras stripes are slightly different.
Not just talking about real life, they also animated it in these zebras. 😅

Honestly, I love how they portray this because in the beginning, they show the poachers what kids don’t realize is that they’re not just hunters their poachers and that’s a legitimate problem that still exists in Africa for people killing elephants and rhinos just to take their horns and tusks because ivory is usually made out of those materials and they fetch a very high price on the black market. It’ll boils down to the very illegal use of the black market.

I forget how unhinged these movies get the more they go on

To be comoletely fair to Alex, it seemed that neither Gloria or Melman could tell Marty from the ither zebras apart either
