I hope to be as transparent as possible so, This is a list of timestamps which contain errors in the video

Also at 44:17 you can JUST BARELY make out the silhouette of a helldiver salue, thats mb i set the opacity too low, but its there!

Errors that i caught in the video editing there is text in the video itself that talks about these

42:37 in the lightning round i forgot to mention the alien craft (caught by @User-ytj8s and @militiachrs)
7:27 in that instance, the scientist may have been referring to attaching the barnacle to an organic surface (like shepards hand) rather than an inorganic surface (like a celing) (Caught by @theepicdonut68)
34:06 The shock trooper can not infact operate independantly, it dies after some time apart from its host (caught by @k96man)

My headcanon is that houndeyes come from the same world as antlions and vorts, since the sonic blasts could have evolved to repel antlions like the Combine thumpers. I like to imagine a vortigaunt antlion shepherd using a pack of houndeyes like sheepdogs.

and of course, the manta rays get forgotten yet again.

Half Life, full life consequences

@mallia_the_malware 1 year ago

Counter argument for the bullsquid tentacle part:
In the little xen transportation part that then transitions into Unforeseen Consequences, the part where the bullsquids appear, their tentacles were already red.
So its probably a natural color

@mago8385 1 year ago

Nono, the tentacle mouth is UNDER it, when you kill the tentacle and go underground you see a larger creature corpse with the 3 tentacles being just the locomotion organ, the tentacles don't eat because they don't have a mouth, the tentacles grab the prey and throw it under the pit to be consumed by the larger part

Headcrabs in 2 are genetically engineered by the Combine after the first Cascade. Hence their differences

@britishbloke2256 1 year ago

Fun fact about the gene worm: its probably something akin to jormungandr in length as it is described as being the majority of the race x homeworld and it was trying to terraform earth during the black mesa incident. What shepard fought was merely its head.

3:33 I've been into Half-Life for over fifteen years and I never noticed the visible skull on the headcrab zombies. That is horrifying

@michaelbuckers 9 months ago

It makes a lot of sense that most of the wildlife of HL1 wasn't present in HL2: they couldn't survive in Earth conditions for very long. Note how combine require extensive technological modifications to be able to live here.

1:47 I know this is super padantic but the proper name for the xen creatures as a whole is "Xenian" IE "the Xenians".

I kid you not, THIS EXACT CONCEPT HAS PLAGUED MY MIND FOR FIVE YEARS!!! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!!!!

@Autumn_Actually 1 year ago

I think it's logical to assume Houndeyes could work together to distract Tentacles via their sonic booms, similar to pack animals (i.e. wolves) surrounding larger prey items (i.e. moose) to distract, and attack when an opening is provided by other pack members. This sonic distraction could also be one of the reasons Bullsquids began to hunt alongside Houndeyes.

One thing I noticed about the "Manufactured" aliens was the fact that they were being manufactured to begin with,
this means that the Nihilanth had been planning to invade earth for quite some time now seeing as just how many forces just pile into the lab
what we can tell from military radios in HL1 is that the military is overrun and attempts to retreat near the middle of the game, not too long after they arrive.
With an invasion force this big (with some time) they may even be able to take over earth if the Combine simply did not arrive to sweep the floor.

The spikes on the backs of the Bullsquid's legs seem to be based off of Spurs, a special claw that grows a small ways above the actual foot, notable in roosters and chickens in general.

Spurs themselves are used in combat with other roosters, often over mating. It could be that Bullsquids do use them to "check" eachother when it's over mates, or when breeding, somehow. It could be used for plenty of stuff, is all I'm saying.

Edit: I should also add that the "Big Bad" of Xen isn't related to the vorts or similar organisms to vorts, as his third arm is grafted onto him, likely by the Combine or, solely in the context of HL1, himself, in order to control vorts and other Xen species better.

Edit 2: I forgot to mention that, if only going off of HL1 and it's DLC for the aliens and how they work is a bit of a fool's errand, due to the heavy amount of software and hardware limitations even Valve admits meant that a lot of the stuff planned originally had to be toned down or scrapped entirely. Plenty of that "stuff" ended up in HL2, oddly enough.
