🌙 What still might be possible?

That question became the inspiration for Chapter 6 of my As A Woman Thinketh Art Journal.

This chapter is called Visions and Ideals, and it's about dreams, possibilities, and the visions we carry for our lives—but perhaps not quite in the way James Allen originally wrote about them.

I don't believe every dream we have is a promise that life will turn out exactly as we imagine.

Sometimes circumstances change.

Sometimes we change.

Sometimes doors close.

And sometimes Heavenly Father leads us somewhere we never expected to go.

So instead of asking, “How do I make everything I dream about happen?” I've been thinking about a gentler question:

“What still might be possible?”

🚪 For this art journal project, I painted a door on one page and those words on the page beside it.

Then I turned the page—almost as if I were opening the door.

On the other side is a peaceful nighttime landscape beneath a huge full moon and a sky filled with stars. Two little rabbits sit together in the moonlight, surrounded by untamed ground filled with grasses, weeds, thistles and wildflowers.

I love that what's behind the door isn't a picture of a perfect life.

There are still weeds.

There are still thistles.

But there are also wildflowers.

There is light.

There is beauty.

There is companionship.

There is peace.

And there is possibility.

Maybe that's an important reminder for all of us.

Life doesn't have to become perfect before it can become beautiful.

In this video I talk about allowing ourselves to dream again—especially when life hasn't turned out exactly as we expected.

Maybe there's still something you'd like to learn.

Something you'd like to create.

Someone you'd like to become.

A gift you haven't discovered yet.

A way you'd like to serve.

Or maybe what you're longing for isn't another accomplishment at all.

Maybe what's still possible is more peace, connection, creativity, wonder, faith or joy.

I also connect this chapter back to something I talked about in Chapter 5—The Power of a Little Bit.

We don't have to accomplish the whole dream today.

We can write one page.

Make one phone call.

Learn one thing.

Create one piece of art.

Say one prayer.

Take one step.

And then tomorrow, do another little bit.

Our dreams can give us direction while Heavenly Father helps us discover where that direction ultimately leads.

I want to hold my dreams with open hands and be able to say:

“Heavenly Father, this is what I hope for. But show me what Thou seest.”

Because perhaps the most important vision isn't a picture of everything I hope to accomplish.

Perhaps it's a vision of the woman I'm becoming as I follow Jesus Christ.

💜 If life looks different from the picture you once had in your mind—or if you've simply stopped dreaming—I hope you'll sit with this question for a while:

What still might be possible?

Take that question to Heavenly Father.

Leave some room for the answer to surprise you.

And remember—you don't need to see the entire journey.

You just need enough light for your next faithful step.

✨ Dream. Pray. Begin.

And hold your vision with open hands while holding onto Christ even tighter.

As A Woman Thinketh is my Christ-centered reimagining of James Allen's classic As a Man Thinketh, written especially for Latter-day Saint women. I'm creating an art journal alongside the book and using each chapter as inspiration for a reflective art-journaling project.

I'd love to hear from you in the comments:

If you opened your own door of possibility today, what would you hope might still be on the other side?
