PENTILLIE CASTLE
Ted and Sarah Coryton inherited Pentillie Castle in September 2007, along with a £6million inheritance tax bill. The family were in two minds over keeping the house and contemplated selling it. But it wasn’t long before they fell in love with its unique charms. The family had to find a means by which the house could pay for itself, in order to keep it afloat.
Ruth Watson encouraged The Coryton’s to open the house and gardens to the public and paralleled it with ‘The Lost Gardens of Heligan’. With its beautiful river-side setting, she felt Pentillie could easily become one of the country’s finest wedding venues. As Pentillie isn’t the Coryton’s family home, they had full opportunity to let the house for B&B and exclusive-hire.
The Coryton’s have followed much of Ruth’s advice and have totally renovated the inside of the castle. The décor is of the highest standard in the generous-sized bedrooms and bathrooms. Pentillie Castle has recently been awarded a 5* Gold B&B Award by Visit England.
Following the transmission of the programme, Pentillie Castle received 22,000 hits on their website enquiring about accommodation and weddings within 2 days. Immediately following the programme they secured 10 bookings for weddings.

$21,000,000,000 in the last three years alone. This is called double dipping as everything has already gone through taxation in that person’s lifetime already.
Just straight up theft.
