ELMORE
Elmore Court is a 25 million pound estate in Gloucestershire that has been in the Guise family for 750 years. It has recently been inherited by 37 year old Anselm, who has no money and needs a way of making some fast as the house falls into a state of disrepair. There are cracks in the walls, a leaking roof and decaying outbuildings and it’s up to Anselm as the latest owner to save this important family seat. Anselm lead a party lifestyle before inheriting Elmore, but now he has been forced to get serious and he needs to put the ideas he has for the house into action, with some help from Ruth Watson.
Ruth quickly observed that despite Anselm inheriting the beautiful historic property, he was struggling to take ownership of it, possibly feeling the pressure of the many Guise ancestors that have gone before him. She encouraged him to try out his idea of a cookery school and this in turn helped Anselm make his own mark on Elmore.
She also reminded him that the future of Elmore depended on him producing an heir and encouraged him not to waste any time in that area!
Anselm has made progress in all areas since Ruth’s visit and, most importantly, has met a bride who now lives with him at Elmore. A leak from the water tank has forced them to put the cookery school on hold and start work on the interior of the property and the renovation of an entire wing. In the future however there are plans to develop the cookery school idea into a School of Good Living. It seems Anselm is now more than comfortable in his role of ‘Lord of the Manor’.
