Remember, you can mail things to yourself. I did that when I was in Egypt. It saved space and weight in my suitcase.

Oh no. Charlie discovered layer cakes. Charlie look away. Charlie it's a trap. Take it from a burgeoning quilter, once you start it never stops. Also as a permanently away-from-home Seattlite, this is making me SO homesick. Thanks for loving on the Seattle craft community!

I love the slow rotation that you have when showing items and scenery. It’s the perfect speed. I get motion sickness easy, and I’ve never once felt nauseous. Thank you very much for bringing us on your trip!

It was great to meet you at SewExpo and I was so excited when you showed up in my historical embroidery patterns class. Thanks for being so gracious as I devolved into fan girling

9:04 The virtual mini tour of the Chihuly Garden and Glass museum reconciled me with the world today so thank you!

I live in western Washington and you have inspired me to go exploring my area again. Sometimes it's easy to forget what cool stuff we have here. So glad you enjoyed our city!

I work at Lost & Found Crafts! Thank you for visiting our little slice of creative heaven.

2:44 Hey! That's our donation*! My quilt guild has a monthly Scrap Pack subgroup meeting where donated leftover fabrics are dumped onto about five tables and we get to take whatever we want, discuss scrap quilt patterns, and generally inspire each other. At the end of the meeting, we bag up the unselected fabrics by color or theme or type, and donate it all to Seattle Recreative! I personally filled a box of non-quilting/garment fabrics on Wednesday but it is still in transit. We love not sending all of it to textile waste and hope others are inspired to use these fabrics!!! Thanks for the video.

Omg! Lost and Found Crafts in Olympia is my local creative reuse store! Everyone there is so nice. Once a year, they also have a "whatever you can fit into a grocery bag is $10" sale. So fun. I'm so glad you got to enjoy our beautiful PNW views and shopping.

As a local, can confirm, late March through early June are absolutely stunning. Not too hot yet and all the things are in bloom ❤

I just found out that my local quilt shop (which is my only local source for fabric since Jo-Ann closed) is staying open! They were going to close in April so the owner could retire, but she changed her mind!

a friend of mine has made a tiny book library for every ebook they own and have read. So they have a physical representation of these books. We brainstormed together on how to visualize and make physical the ebooks we love. They actually made a mini-library :D

13:36 Omg I recognise those! They’re from the swedish children’s book “Hjältarna i grönsakslandet” (the heroes of the vegetable patch). I remember reading it as a kid, what unexpected hit of nostalgia! 😊

Fun fact: the Washington State Ferry System is the largest ferry system in the USA and the second largest in the world. I live in Kitsap and always encourage visitors to see Seattle from the water if they have the chance. I can go to a boat launch near where I live and look across the Sound (we don't call it a harbor) and see Seattle.

Thanks for the shout out, even if you didn't get to come by! 🧡 The PNW is so lucky we have so many creative reuse stores in the area.

My dad loved to pick up books wherever he traveled and his tip was that if your suitcase gets too full or too heavy, you can always post books home for the reduced 'reading material postal rate'. Many bookstores will post things for you or you can bring some large postal envelopes in your luggage if you anticipate buying books. Yes, it costs money, but so does having overly-heavy suitcases. Plus you get kind of a fun package after you return home!

This was such a delightful watch! I absolutely adore living up here, and seeing it through another's eyes in a joyous, curious, and enthusiastic way is just the best ever ... I hope you're back soon! 🩷

Love you’re promoting reuse.  The spreadsheet is priceless, thank you.

Absolutely enjoyed this tour of Seattle. You are the best narrator, so funny. You truly remind me of my daughter. Happy crafting, safe travels.

I'm glad you enjoyed Seattle and thanks for all the great craft store recommendations! I frequent Bainbridge for their farmer's market and antique stores, but I have never been to Esther's-- I will have to change that! The ferry is without a doubt the top thing I recommend any tourist taking. Bremerton's is a bit long, but it and Bainbridge Island will give you the absolute best view of the mountains and city, making for a much better photo op than the space needle. I hope you are able to make your way here again someday, if you really want some cozy, old victorian town vibes I recommend finding a way to Port Townsend.
