You know, you should have a second channel talking about comic books, but using archeological t-shirts 😂

Scott Stripling? The same genius who gave us the "Curse Tablet" which turned out to be a fishing weight?
That Scott Stripling?

“Don’t have the foggiest idea of what they’re talking about, or are just lying.” I am tired of the word ‘misinformation’ when lying is the actual word which should be used.

@CheatahX 4 months ago

Ah, Stripling. The only area that I know he's an expert in is deception.

Apologists follow the Costanza principle: “It’s not a lie… If YOU believe it.”

Every household has a hammer - Proof Thor is the one and only true God.

The biggest fallacy is the assumption that the process of crucifixion is the same throughout the ancient world, almost like a ritual that allows no deviations.

The human proportions on the shroud are ridiculous. It's a lack of understanding that we see in...medieval art.

@WeAreBabylon 4 months ago

As a professional archaeologist, I really fail to see how any argument goes any further than "Oh, the carbon date for this shroud is medieval."

How is this the first time I'm hearing you're an artist, too??? 😅

I love that this guy spends so much time addressing the wounds and completely skirts the fact that the image on the Shroud looks exactly like medieval depictions of Christ as artists of the time conceived of him.
Can't imagine why he'd leave out that part. 😂😂

Why would the feet be overlapping each other ON THE SHROUD? Regardless of how a person's feet were arranged when crucified, once the body was taken down wouldn't a body have its legs and feet parallel to each other as the most relaxed position? How would you keep the feet overlapping when laying out the body to be buried? WHY would you overlap the feet?

My favorite crucifixion discrepancy - one I noted as a child sitting in my pew at a Catholic Church - was how Roman officials spent hours beating and humiliating what they considered a criminal who deserved to be tortured to death, going so far as nailing him physically to the cross, yet deliberately draped cloth around his loins to spare him the embarrassment of letting people see his pecker. Especially after allegedly casting lots to see who would get to keep his clothing.

The shroud doesn't fit with how the body would look like if it was wrapped around a body. The man's picture should be distorted like a gaming character's sprite, it looks more like a xerox print.

We have the holy hand grenade!

I don’t understand how any Christians who believe that the Bible (or even just the New Testament) is an accurate description of historical events can even entertain the possibility of the Shroud of Turin being legitimate when its form (a single cloth that was supposedly wrapped around the entire corpse, including the head) contradicts John 20:6-7 which specifically describes the wrappings as consisting of strips of linen for the body and a separate cloth for the head.

@barbarapeterson4000 4 months ago (edited)

I suggest that you create a "button" that you can put on the end of every Shroud of Turin video, pointing out that it was known to be a forgery when it was first found! Therefore it doesn't matter what the Shroud shows, or people think it shows, it was known to be a forgery then and its known to be a forfery now. And even a forgery.

I wonder if the Romans had a manual for standard operating procedures for crucifixions. If a Roman nailed someone's palm instead of their wrist did it go on their annual performance evaluation?

@Jamie_van_Brewen 4 months ago

They may not even have used nails at all much of the time. It's not necessary. They could tie a person's arm to a crossbeam and it will still work just as well. They might have used nails just to make it more brutal, but they didn't have to. And iron nails were valuable and easily broken.
