Tell me everything is not about Matty, BUT WHAT IF IT IS!!!!!!

The timing of Cruel Summer being released as a single in June 2023 is definitely curious.

Matty Healy was her greatest muse, and I will die on this hill.

"Cruel Summer is her doing it, August is her reflecting on it" -- perfect summation

Screaming in my head about how Halsey famously described matty as blue in her song

I love you, ain't that the worst thing you've ever heard has never made sense to me in the context of Joe

Remember in “Glitch” when she says, “what kind of mood and situationship I’m in” ?!?

"Hang your head low in the glow of the vending machine". If you imagine glow of vending machine in the dark, you basically imagine the Box, symbol of the 1975. And Matty's hanging head in the glow of it on the stage.

At this point, we just need to assume every song is about Matty, then change IF we find enough evidence to the contrary.

I'm fully convinced! All your points make total sense. Taylor herself said 'its the worst men that I write the best' and therefore this absolute top tier song must be about him!!

I’ve been saying this! Matty is her muse and she has weaved him into way more songs (poems) than people realize.

When I learned about the Matty Healy of it all, I knew cruel summer was about him. Some of those reputation songs too. Incredible video as always Nina!

I'll go as far as to say i think "I knew it I knew you" was a song she wrote about her and Mattys re-kindling & then repurposed! He is swirled in all her poems. I truly believe it.

Are we gonna talk about how right after she references the flickering chandelier in Death by A Thousand Cuts she says “Bc I can't pretend it's ok when it's not”? You know, like how she “said I’m fine but it wasn’t true”? It’s all right there on the page…
