The smoothest, richest, clearest, purest, warmest most angelic voice of all time and she was a fabulous drummer too,.

One of the best female vocalists EVER - knocks the socks off modern female singers

This was the wedding song for countless newlyweds for a good long time.

The voice that made grown men cry

You just heard the most beautiful singing voice in history and there are many more great songs in the Carpenter catalogue. Also, check out her drumming skills.

You'll never hear a more beautiful voice anywhere!

Karen Carpenter’s voice is heaven sent.

The most beautiful voice in the world

The Carpenters are a cut above the rest. Love them. RIP Karen. Karen also plays drums, and brother Richard plays piano, sings, and handles all the song arrangements.

The song was written for a bank TV commercial selling loans to newlyweds. Richard heard it and talked to the writer to find out if there was a whole song or just what he heard. Paul Williams, song writer, sent it to them and Richard wrote the arrangements. It became 1 of their biggest hits in the 70s.
Karen and Richard Carpenter were brother and sister. If you watch her hands you can tell she was a drummer.

Nobody, I mean nobody sings better than Karen Carpenter, nobody!!!

Yes, the song was about starting married life.

I cry every time I hear her sing.

This song was probably 71-72.  It was THE wedding song for people getting married in that era.

It's great to see these young people find the great music from the 70s and 80s and get so emotional and almost have tears in their eyes, just because of the beauty they experience. You have to go way back in time to find music that touches your soul.

The Carpenters and ABBA were played in our family home by my parents back in the 70’s and 80’s. I adore them.

The song is about two people getting married and the start of their life together

One of the most natural, carefree  and recognizable female vocalists of all time.  And just a joy to remember the world before auto-tune, when honest talent rose above the pack.  The world definitely lost her far too soon.

I cannot say how happy it makes me to hear young people like you respond to the music of my youth. I was 10 years old when this song was released and The Carpenters only lived a few miles away from where I grew up. I particularly love how you listen to the music, it’s beauty, richness and meaning.

I was born in 1970 and the carpenters were played constantly in my home and my grandparents.. no one has a voice like hers and she also was one of best drummers she considered herself a drummer that could sing.. drumming was her passion
