As an avid historian the depiction of medieval Australia in this movie is spot on.

Ash is one of the all-time great movie characters. I love how he's completely incompetent at everything he does, from working retail to wooing women. But the one thing he's good at is fighting demons, and he just happens, whether through luck or skill, to be absolutely exceptional at it.

I'm convinced Army of Darkness was a reference material for when Peter Jackson filmed the battle of Helm's Deep.

3rd movie = Comedy horror
All three have their own charm and tones and I've enjoyed them for decades.

Peter Jackson did took inspiration from Army of Darkness for the Battle of Helm's Deep. Especially the whole gunpowder part where Saruman stops Grimma from accidentally igniting it.

Grinning ear to ear throughout.   Never gets old.
