Toriyama was like
"Hey remember all these characters that you had all this time to like and grow an attachment to?
"Fuck them it's space midget time"

Respect for giving Yamcha his credit. People don't seem to remember there was a crazy fast skirmish between him and the Saibaman. Even Piccolo acknowledged that. Or the great character moment prior. Despite what ended up happening to Yamcha, I respect him for sticking up for his bro, Krillin. At that moment, Yamcha was a prophet, he knew Krillin was just as capable, but still insisted on fighting in his place due to him already dying, so in case something did go wrong they know Yamcha could be brought back to life, unlike Krillin. The guy is a true friend.

Krillin clearing the field here really bothered me every time I watched this as a kid.  The goal was to delay until Goku had time to get here, and by wiping out the Saibamen, they moved on to fighting Nappa way faster than they would have otherwise had to.  Playing along and humoring the Saiyans' game and fighting the Saibamen tournament style would have been the smarter play.  I get that Krillin was pissed Yamcha died, but this move was basically what got Tien and Chaotsu killed.

Gohan was 4. Then he went straight from this to Namek. Shit was insane.

That elbow hit Piccalo so hard, Kami felt it.

Solar flare + Destructo disk
Nobody ever does it

Even though there are insanely more powerful enemies throughout the series, Nappa still looks more threatning than most of them.

"That's right, Raditz was so weak.. We could literally PLANT him!!"

-TFS Vegeta

This fight makes me wish there were more team fights in the series, the choreography and drama is just next level

"Nappa smelt the most urine coming from tien" that is the funniest thing I've heard all week

To be fair to both Krillin and Goku for always holding back
They literally trained in a style called the Turtle Style
That whole thing is about patience and waiting

Yamcha didn't charge his Kamehameha. He was flexing for speed but it lacked the power.

On God. It’s with this episode that I was hooked on DBZ, and we also learned Piccolo is a great father figure.

Was half passed out until I hear “Tien goes for it, throws up crip in the memory of Chiaotzu…” 😂😂😂

Ain’t no way bro dissed Napa’s modeling career

If nappa survived he would unlock black force energy

I like to think that since Nappa died not too long after Piccolo, they had some words on King Yemma’s line.

Lost it at "throws up crip in the memory of Chiozu" fucking killed me bro.

This is why I Like the Psycho Look Gohan has wen He goes Beast.
It's fueled by All the trauma he went through as a kid.

"throws up crip"

Dude you killed me
