Rudy was HOSED in the short program. There is no excuse for those marks!

I thought this was a clear Rudy win then, and I still do now, but 3rd was essentially as good as first after the Short if you were trying to win, and I think inadvertantly, the judges set up his moment even better by having him in 3rd.  Todd was awesome, and I loved seeing Trifun!  A preview of what was to come in a few years!!

Is it bad that I don't like Todd?   He's a great skater, and his LPs here and at Worlds were insane but there's something about about him that makes me think he must be impersonal and a complete jerk and so I don't like to watch him.   I have no idea why this is.  Everyone else seems like they would be friendly and good sports - he doesn't seem like he is interested in being a good sport.
