At what point does collecting fragrances stop being a hobby and start becoming an addiction?
In this video, I’m talking about something I think a lot of fragrance collectors—myself included—need to be honest about: the constant desire to buy more.
300+ bottles. 400 bottles. 500 bottles. At some point, you simply cannot realistically wear everything you own. Yet somehow, there’s always another release, another blind buy, another “must-have” fragrance that we convince ourselves we need.
So why do we keep buying?
Is it the love of fragrance? The excitement of getting something new? The thrill of the hunt? Or have we gotten caught up in the idea that having a bigger collection somehow makes us more knowledgeable or more passionate about fragrance?
This isn’t about shaming anyone for having a large collection. It’s about taking a step back and asking ourselves whether we’re actually enjoying the fragrances we own—or just constantly chasing the next bottle.
Because if you have 300+ fragrances, you’re never going to get through them all.
And maybe that’s the part of fragrance collecting we don’t talk about enough.
