A stainless steel pan hack for you, if you have stuck on food add enough water to submerge everything stuck on the pan and bring to simmer then you use a spatula or wooden spoon (something that is stiff) to scrub the food off a bit then pour the water down the sink and while the pan is still warm it should come off without too much elbow grease. It’s the same method you use to deglaze a pan (just don’t put the hot pan under cold water!) and it’s much easier.

In my 42 years of life I’ve never heard a bell pepper called a capsicum. Crazy how many different names things can have depending on what part of the world you’re in. The more you know lol

Tapping the fat end of the egg separates the inner membrane, that’s the click you hear, when it’s boiled the shell comes away easier due to not sticking to the membrane whilst cooking.

I think your hack on the orange is better. It looks doable and effective.

You blowing the egg is sending me 😂

a meat tenderiser works much better with the cling wrap and is great for garlic too.

For unripe avocados, I put them in a bag on the counter. They ripen super fast. This week I cut one in half that wasn't ripe yet, put it in a plastic sandwich bag on the counter and it ripened and continued to ripen after I put it in the fridge and took it back out the next day. I have also made guacamole with unripe avocados.

The orange hack isn't for oranges, it's for tangerines. We usually do it in my country to eat tangerines😋🍊

Best way to use stainless steel is to heat the pan up. Sprinkle a little water. If it beads and dances around the pan and then dissolves, then it’s ready. Put a little bit of oil, wait a couple of seconds to heat the oil then put your food in. Don’t move it yet. Let the food cook a little, it creates a crust that slides off the stainless steel. Easy!

Your peeler has two sides and you can turn the blade to determine which ones one top. The smooth one for peeling things like potatoes etc and the jagged one for more delicate skins like onion, kiwi etc. Thats why the onion-hack only worked when you peeled "backwards".

Honestly what was the hack about with the last slicing of the watermelon? "to slice a watermelon you just slice it" 😂

@valtaistuin 8 months ago

I've always just cut kiwi in half and eaten it out of the half with a spoon, like the peel is a little bowl.

For cutting bell pepper; turn it upside down and slice in the grooves, usually three cuts then peel the pepper down and away. Leaving the seeds as well as the stem still in tact. No waste from the top ring that everyone cuts away.

I hope I explained this well.
