I also love the structure of this movie. It barely even has acts. It's basically just 90 minutes of nonstop escalation, with the characters running around desperately trying to get on top of a situation spiraling further out of control by the minute. It's breathless in a way which is common these days, but rare for a 90s film.

The VHS version of the movie has a meta joke like the movie theater version, but instead of the gremlins being in the theater, they switch channels until they come along a western where John Wayne tells them to get on with the movie.

I consider myself privileged to have seen this in a cinema when it came out, because when the gremlins took over the projector, everyone watching thought that there was a genuine fault and looked back at the projection booth in irritation. Then we heard the laughter… A moment I’ll never forget 😂❤

My friend and writing mentor Mary worked on Gremlins 2 and wrote some of the most memorable scenes.
Notably, she wrote the Electric Gremlin, The Batman Gremlin and the Gizmo Rambo scene.
She's also known for writing the English dialog for Ghost in The Shell and The Puppet Master speech at the end. Merry Christmas Everyone! ❤

its weird hearing a movies total movie production was four months so use to modern movies taking 1-2years. this one of the favorites as a kid along with the critters movies

What a great video. I remember watching this movie 6 times at the University Village theater in my home city. I was only a kid, so I pretty much enjoyed cartoonish style. My favorite scenes then, were the bat gremlin and the Hulk Hogan character cameo. As a grown up, I appreciate the entire film especially the creature effects and design. I still watch both back to back on DVD every so often.

Rambo Gizmo was awesome but the scene with the Chef tickles my funny bone like few scenes in this movie do! Getting blasted on set, “Some use a little sherry, glug glug glug…. I use a lot.” The whole movie is so funny and weird, it’s a gem! Merry Christmas y’all!
