Why did Jesus choose Caesarea Philippi for Peter's confession — and Mount Hermon for the Transfiguration? It wasn't geography. It was cosmic warfare. Dr. Michael Heiser explains the concept of biblical cosmic geography and shows how Jesus deliberately moved through spiritually charged territory to declare His victory over the fallen divine council.
This teaching connects Bashan (the biblical land of giants and underworld gates), the Transfiguration, the Great Commission, and Paul's mission to Spain into one coherent narrative: the Messiah came to reclaim the disinherited nations — one divine council territory at a time.
Topics covered:
• Bashan as a gateway to the underworld in Canaanite and Ugaritic texts
• Why "the gates of hell shall not prevail" is offensive, not defensive
• The Transfiguration on Mount Hermon — why there, why the divine council witnesses
• Mark 8–9 and the cosmic significance of Peter's confession
• The book of Acts as a deliberate reversal of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 10–11)
• Paul's mission to Spain — strategic reclaiming of the disinherited nations
• Deuteronomy 32, the divine council, and territorial spirits explained

I realize he had become a "holy man of God," which is why God called Mike Heiser home at only 60 years of age.
He's the best pastor and Bible teacher I've ever sat under in my 76 years, even though I never met him in person. I read all his books and share them often with other true seekers I meet.
I have learned MORE Bible doctrine from him than any other human teacher on earth.
It comforts me his wife has remarried. God bless them all!❤❤❤
