I found this massive barley twist coffee table for free on Facebook Marketplace. The top veneer was bubbled, the legs were patchy and peeling, and it looked a little hopeless. But with some patience, a non-toxic stripper, a paint wash and layered stain, I brought it back to life with a modern, soft-toned wood finish sealed in satin polyurethane. What started as a shed-stored wreck is now a warm, timeless piece that’s ready for a brand-new home instead of the landfill.

I love how you never cut corners, you always do things right (even if it's painstaking and hard) and it shows in the end results. Just spectacular!!

Call me crazy, but I LOVE the light color of the unfinished wood after you sanded it all. It feels like an almost rustic feel. It seems very old, aged wood, and I love that look.

If that's your living room at the end, keep the table for yourself to enjoy for awhile and then donate it later. It looks really good with your couches.

What a transformation!!! Beautiful. Thanks for saving another piece from the landfill Katie!!

I agree with the people who think you should keep it! It’s not too big in your living room and it goes with your turned lamp and end table. Beautiful restoration!!

I appreciate the extra steps you take to ensure there's no orange. And that buttery, satiny smooth finish at the end - beautiful!

I'm just going to say it....GIRL....you are GOOD!

You make some of the most satisfying videos on YouTube! I really look forward to watching you work and transform something relegated to trash into treasure. Your narration is also really educational. My coffee table is solid oak, but it’s been in use for at least 40 years and really needs refinishing. I keep my ears open while watching your videos for techniques, supplies, thought processes, and equipment that will make my amateur attempt more successful. Thank you!

And you DONATE it! God Bless your work journey 🙏
And I pray it brings a good amount for the charity!
It’s a Stunning peace

So proud of you. My neighbor to the north, you made this a useful and beautiful object. Not underestimating all the work you carefully did. Nice work. Creative and sensitive. It will be well used .

Sanding all those twisty parts is no fun, your wrists can feel it after going at it. That's dedication to get it all sanded down 😅

Wow, Katie! This table turned out beautiful. What a find. You did an excellent job reviving the beauty of it. Thank you for another great video.❤😊

Katie, as a woman over 60 years old I admire your ability to sit/kneel on a concrete floor. Save your future self - knees, hips, low back - and raise your projects.😊

So beautiful! How often over the years have you heard the old saw... "I love hard work. I could watch you do it all day!!"

@achsinal 10 months ago

Stunning! If you can find an organization who takes their “high end” donations and uses them in fundraising auctions or special sales, that would be so satisfying. We have an animal rescue organization that does that.

Gorgeous!

That watered down paint trick to even the tone of the wood is a super cool idea! I love the way you respected the original design of the piece, but elevated it to fit a “today” environment. Nice work!
