All Blacks are one of the most successful international sports teams in history with a winning ratio of 80%. We're very proud of them. Rugby is our game and its part of our culture, as is the haka. Thank you for watching :)

They call down the spirit of their ancestors and their need to make them proud and not to disappoint them

That was the greatest team I ever saw in any sport. You can’t believe how great they were

Hello from Germany, they sing / speak the language of New Zealands Maori people. The Haka and the Maori culture is so interesting, I like to learn to know more about it, too!

BOYS.. prepare for the rabbit hole haha

NZ has 3 official languages.. English, Maori (Native Indegioneous people of NZ) and Sign Language (not everyone knows this lol)

But the Maori are the Native people's of NZ. Traditionally a Warrior culture and a product of the Pacific.

The Haka is the Maori War Dance traditionally used before battle to rally up and hype soldiers before war.

Nowadays, the Haka is a customary dance used for multiple occasions. Celebrations and acknowledgement of achievements, graduations, birthdays, wedding and funerals. A kid growing up in NZ would be exposed to the Haka from a very young age. Your school may have a haka, your local rugby or sports team would have a haka, if you were a native, your tribe could have multiple Hakas.

There are similar war dances performed by the other PACIFIC Islands.

HAKA - MAORI (NZ)
SIVA TAU - SAMOA
SIPI TAU - TONGA
CIBI - FIJI

Can't wait to see yous react to more Haka videos. Even the Patch Gangs in NZ have their own Hakas.

The Haka has a wonderful and noble history. It is a war dance that was created by a chieftain of a tribe of Māori people who faced annhialation . It is worth checking out the history of this tradition and these fascinating people.

Our HAKA we use in sports is a challenge not a war cry. We have had to dial it down more and more over the years so cultures do not misunderstand our challenge as a intimidation tactic or fear tactic we dont need to.
These are merely 'challenges' from our warriors to your warriors (team). We call to you to, hear our spirits (mana) which is united we are ready, come forth warriors, hear our call. In other words LETS DO THIS!!!

You can't do rugby without reacting to jonah lomu the man is an absolute beast, think the Messi of rugby, watch lord of the wings, you're welcome ha ha.

This is our native language: "Te reo Māori" however in NZ/Aotearoa we speak both the native and English language.. Thank you both for the reaction🙏🏾 just gotta say "The Haka and its background is something of value that u can take with you when u pass, however money and all the false wealth it represents is not.."  #nzmaorilove

Could only imagine that to be wanna the most intimidating views in sport! Get goosebumps every time I see a haka, war time!

You want to see them play... they are awesome... Even when they beat Scotland or the British Lions it's a pleasure to watch them

I'm French and during the haka my heart wants to yell to accept the challenge, to protect our players but we all know what a treasure haka is so we mostly stay as quite possible to enjoy it and let our boys becoming men in front of this

What I like about the NZ haka, is that despite it being Māori culture, they include their Anglo/white brothers and sisters. Saamoa, Tonga, Fiji, and others have their own versions.

The haka is also used to control your aggression, by letting out your uncontrolled rage and emotions in the haka you go in battle (or the game) clear headed but ready. It can almost put you in a trance, you don't get tired, you trust others in your team more and you tend to be ruthless. Love a good haka. Keep up the good work boys ✌🏽 check out beats by dre video they did on the haka has some mean info.

The haka in 2005 was special as it was a non native Maori that led it. He was of Samoan descent.

Each tribe have their own haka as well as every  highschool in Nz have their own haka and the challenge would be thrown down at interschool sports tournaments, athletics, even at debating lol. You'd see at bus stations and train stations. Nothing beats school sports tournaments and seeing a whole school and everyone in the stands throw down.

The Haka is not performed just 4 Rugby, it's performed 4 all sports, not just 4 sports either, weddings, funerals, send offs, graduations, u name it...

The NZ ALL BLACKS have the highest winning percentage of any team in any sport  about 76%

They do for all sports and festivities. It’s hits different when u see a top of the world team in a physical sport perform it

Thank you. The "HAKA History" upload is an excellent informational explanation of the HAKA's history from the indigenous Maori people of NZ. It is performed at weddings, funerals, welcomes, farewells, war cries and celebrations. Disrespecting the HAKA to New Zealanders is like burning the flag to Americans. It's also considered a great honour to have a HAKA performed for you. The HAKA that was performed at Jonah Lomu's funeral is a real tear-jerker. Would love to see your reaction to that upload.
