Strange spec car,basic spec leather seats, plastic dash, no Xenons, heated seats (inAustralia…),

The hatch struts need a good couple of hours and definitely a two man job as the hatch is very heavy, the parts are cheap though.

If you’re planning to jack the car up, don’t without first deactivating the air suspension by pushing the ride height toggle fully forward and holding it until you hear the confirmation sound.

The interior trim is very fragile, they need oil changes every 7500km or annually whichever comes first,with a quality synthetic 5W40  (don’t use any 0W30 or 5W30, they drink it…)

Check that the plastic coolant valley pipes have been replaced with the revised alloy ones, check the scuttle is free from leaves etc as rain, washing it etc it will flood the car and the engine and gearbox ECU’s are under the seats…

I’ve never seen a 955 V8 with under 14.0 litres /100km on the trip computer…

They don’t like being left unused, they’ll drain the battery in sometimes as little as ten days, definitely replace the battery with an 110Ah  one, the many modules in the car need a good healthy battery.

They are good cars, they handle like Porsche not like its VW Touareg brother, the brakes are excellent, and they do go REALLY WELL sounding great at the same time

I hope Jimmy the magician has an Australian cousin in the same trade 😂

One advantage of growing up in the1950s and '60s is that, unlike Matt, I don't lust after the cars of my childhood. Because, with a few exceptions like E-Types Jenson Interceptors and Ford GT40s, they were all absolute crap!

I'm the same - I love cars from the my early and later teenage years - the 70's - Mk 3 Cortina GXL/E and Capri 3.0 GXL/S. Mk 1 Escorts Mexico and RS2000, Mk 1 Granada and Consul (Granada), Rover P6 3500s, Triumph 2500 Pi, Porsche 911 (when they were Beetles) - superb cars as viewed through rose coloured spectacles.......lost eras of fantasticness

I've just sold my 2009 Cayenne S. Had it for over 4 years / 30k miles (a lockdown gift to myself!). I swore I'd be buried in it as I loved it but 15mpg stopped being funny. I got the pillars and the side window surrounds dechromed by getting them wrapped. Made it look much more modern. The FM transmitter is essential. Looking forward to more Cayenne content but look out for blocked drainage ducts running from the sunroof and I broke the prop shaft bearing with "enthusiastic driving" (according to my mechanic Nick at  R+D Automotive who are Porsche, Ferrari, Aston specialists in Eccles. Yes, I know. Eccles). Traded in for a 2015 V6 eHybrid, which I'm loving.

My son lives in Brisbane, bought a similar age, spec, colour Cayenne a month or so ago, he’s now put some Eurowise off road kit on it, raised the height etc and it looks an absolute beast. It looks like the car it should have been.

This has got to be one of your best deals I've witnessed. Great history, colour, interior and exterior.  It's a great buy for someone who owned 2 Range Rovers simultaneously. When I heard you say you intend to do some of the work yourself, I couldn't help but think the number plates look in good condition. You are entertaining and we enjoy your channel, so as for doing the brakes 15:50 try not to get ahead of yourself strongly suggest you don't "have a go at that" as for "how hard can it be" the Australian Outback has plenty of space to run out of trouble should the brakes fail, whilst professional mechanics debate you undermining their skills. 😂😇

Another great video Matt & looking forward to the next few videos detailing the work. Have owned 2 Cayennes myself (albeit Diesels) - hopefully the transfer case service 20k miles ago should help stop the achilles heel problem of transfer case issues! 👏👏

Another great video Matt. Back here in the North West of the UK  a have a properly sorted and FSH 3.2 v6 with 85000 miles im reluctantly about to sell. Its the base model with all the ysual issues, prop bearing, boot struts, gearbox and transfer box oils all have been changed. You can have 1st option if it tickles your fancy.

I have a 2004 Cayenne S and it’s been great! I look forward to driving it even if it’s just to the grocery store 😂

About those little dents, i used to know a chap in ireland who was very good, i think he was called Ted Crilly and his sidekick Dougal, fantastic work, you wouldnt even know there had ever been a dent there in the first place.

Yep love these old cars. Their very well made and go like the wind.
