How do you feel about Resident Evil 6? 🧟

It'll all make sense once we get to the Cathedral.

Helena: Hello Chris Redfield from the BSAA
Chris: Hello Helena Harper from the Secret Service
Helena: The cathedral…
Chris: MY MEN

holy shit. Finally someone else who is absolutely INFURIATED by Helena's pure incompetence and her "I'll tell you later" bullshit. Love these videos :D

I will forever maintain that Chris' arc in this game should have been in 5 instead. Defeated by his sworn enemy, his partner seemingly dead, the survivor's guilt, Chris should have been at this point when he first met Sheva, which would have given their dynamic more tension and Sheva stronger characterization. Considering where Chris ends his story in 5, his narrative in 6 doesn't quite feel natural.

I played it with my best friend and our head canon was how Helena had a crush on Leon and wanted a wedding at the cathedral.

RE6 always struck me as a game where the devs had to say yes to every suggestion the marketing execs made.

The most unrealistic part of this  is Helena “transferring” from the CIA to the Secret Service. Those are two totally separate job series  with different retirement systems.

Zombies and nonsensical transformations I can accept, but I refuse to suspend my disbelief about government agency recruitment and hiring processes.

You gotta admit, watching blind co-op streams of this game is always entertaining because of the batshit insanity and comedic value of the two players trying to work together and failing in hilarious ways. Think my favorite was one streamer where him and his friend kept accidentally running each other over with the snowmobiles because of how slippery they are to control

And now the one ive been waiting for next. The Resident Evil 7 retrospective, which im sure we will get as soon as we reach the Cathedral.

21:40 - Seeing the daughter turn after you just saved her ... this reminded me of something that just bugged the hell out of me personally about Leon's campaign (although all parts of RE6 sucked in my opinion, really, for pretty much all the reasons you mentioned in your intro). Every non-combatant human that Leon and Helena encounter freaking dies no matter where they go. The guy and his daughter in the school, the group of people they see fighting zombies on the street a little later, the people at the cathedral because THEIR dumb asses released that monster from the underground passage, and then the people on the plane. It was ridiculous. You'd think that SOMEONE other than Leon and Helena would survive and get away just by sheer luck and chance by the plane incident at the beginning of the fourth chapter.

It felt like the game was trying to tell us that only those who know how to fight like our playable characters are the only ones who get to live. Innocent bystanders running and screaming for their lives, who don't know what these monsters even are? Screw every last one of them, apparently.

To this day I never understood Simmons' logic. "I can't let the President unveil that Raccoon City was destroyed by a man-made virus. I better cover it up by assassinating the president by causing a man-made virus outbreak"

I find it so fun that everywhere Leon goes someone dies, and that he and Helena cause the death of everyone at the church. Sure, let's open this mysterious door in the only safe place left.
Tbh Chris's campaing was the most fun for me

I mean...Helena's actions are understandable but ironic once you the game does tell you why she's being so secretive. The thing is that she had no idea, when they first met, that Leon would have helped her anyway. So there's dramatic irony there in the worst way, because the player already knows that Helena's secretive nature is pointless.

But, from her perspective, she is a treasonous agent that is in some way responsible for president's death. Leon would have been well within his right to just take her into custody, so she strings him along with the idea of further clarification. I can't blame Helena, but I can blame Leon who went with it. All they really had to do was start with the sister plot and make Leon and Helena partners from the get go.

That way, he's not being strung along by a stranger but taking a leap of faith for a coworker that he has a history with. And, it gets us to care about Helena sooner and it would make the sister's death a more effective tragedy. Because as it is, by the time we get to the cathedral people are entirely done with Helena's nonsense.

I remember the very first thing that really puzzled me about the changes were the Tic-Tacs to restore health, and then things only got more bizarre from there. To think we'd go from punching a boulder in a volcano to this

The issue I have with Chris is that he clearly is suffering from ptsd and they basically force him to go back to work. Like that man needs therapy and not another battlefield?? And Pierce also keeps yelling at him and confronting him and I feel like that was just insane to do to someone who just lost multiple men and is now drowning in alcohol.

I had a BLAST playing this co-op with a friend. The plot is just so unhinged and stupid we were laughing and making fun of it the entire time. I especially love the bit where Simmons tells everyone that everything is Leon’s fault and instead of trying to back up that claim he just fucks off to China to become a dinosaur.

This is my guilty pleasure, i think the biggest mistake was trying to be like the films with too many plot lines and characters . i can’t wait to see how they remake this one.

What's funny is I played the Chris campaign of this first way back in the day and it made the rest of the game make a lot more sense chronologically

Im glad that everyone in the re universe takes time out of their busy schedules to become pilots.

It’s a handy skill and Im sure its not hard to do or time consuming.
