9:15 this is an actual expression currently used called "putting on your tinfoil hat"

Spanish Girl ,

Interesting history lesson in this video . I wish it would have shown the inside of one of the caves. I hauled cheese for years in a semi-truck and it was always fun to go to the caves. It’s not a huge wide open space, it’s “one way” tunnels that are drilled out of the rock. There is very little space above and beside the rock. It can be like a maze inside to find the unloading door that you need because there are hundreds of them in different sections. The docks that you back up to are perpendicular to the tunnel so space is VERY limited to back into a dock. Inexperienced truck drivers are encouraged NOT to try!  They can’t have someone taking 15 minutes to back into a dock as it is a “one way” and all the other trucks are waiting for the tunnel to clear before they can advance. I couldn’t count how many times I’ve had to get out and direct a driver on how to turn the wheel to get into a spot and on occasion have to convince them to just let me back it in so everyone else can proceed. The temperature is a constant 65 degrees inside the caves all year. High humidity ! Perfect conditions for storage. I’m not surprised by the volume of cheese he says in the video is in storage but an unknown fact is that 1/3 of the cheese made ends up being stored on semi-trailers that just go from one warehouse to another. Cheese gets bought and sold so many times before it is used and ends up just being shipped over and over to another warehouse. I could share so many stories about cheese but I won’t ruin it for you. If you go to Wisconsin make sure you try fresh “cheese curds”. You can tell “fresh” by if it SQUEEKS when you bite into it !

I’ll see if I can find a video for you from inside the caves then send it to you

Great joke here for you, 4:41 "udder" catastrophe instead of utter catastrophe 😂 because of the milk udders of the cow 😂

April fools day is the 1st of April and is not really about telling jokes. It's more about making up outrageous lies to "fool" people who forget it's April fools day.

3:33 basically, ice cream became popular in America during the time when alcohol was made illegal

A million bucks a year to push a product that sells itself? My dream job also! 🧀

10:49 They gave away all the old cheese. That's the govt cheese they were talking about. The cheese going to these businesses is the new excess cheese being produced.

I used to buy government cheese off of people on welfare for 5 bucks a block, it was really good cheese.

I remember when Reagan(may god bless him. One of the best presidents) handed out the cheese. My parents got two blocks. So did everyone at our church. Some were vehemently opposed to this but the public, generally speaking, highly approved.

On a low couch reclining,
When slowly waned the day,
Wrapt in gentle slumber,
A Spanish maiden lay.
O beauteous was that lady;
And the splendour of the place
Matched well her form so graceful,
And her sweet, angelic face.

THE SPANISH LADY

I ate a lot of that cheese in the 80s. It was very good. 😊

Government cheese was delicious.....when it had green on it you just cut it off....the rest of the cheese was good and ok to eat  haha I remember  watching that commercial as a kid 😂😂😂

Spanish Girl ,

I found an interesting video on the caves. It’s not specific to the cheese but interesting info about the caves and how they are made. This one is much bigger than the ones I used to drive in !

Edam <---  🤣🤣🤣 Best one yet! 😊

Never heard the expression Government Cheese before either

They need to start passing out that cheese again. It may not be the best cheese in the world but it's good for grilled cheese and mac&cheese. Yes, we used to call it government cheese. Wait, maybe there actually is no more government cheese, I didn't know that. Now I am more confused, is there government cheese or not? I did like your joke.

"Government cheese" is only a common phrase if you work for the government. I might have given away the rest of the story😂

Well, my grandparents said it was the best cheese they ever had... best I was able to find is likely ~6-12 years old. The stuff older than that had been overcome by mold...
