Genius of this game is that every person who played it (that I met and talked to) had different ending. There is so many variations it's hardly beliveable.

“Your bodyguard is busy winning gold medal in dying” has to be the greatest line in gaming 😂 46:57

Roleplaying the MC as the world's luckiest manchild is the best playthrough.

Average Dad retelling of how he got the Christmas tree

Hiding the secret entrance to a bunker within a shower cubicle could easily have gone quite differently.

Thank goodness the player character is a freak whose instinct was to walk all the way inside fully clothed, shoes and all, before turning on the water.

I like putting Michael in the military hat, shiny aviators, and giving him a full beard. Then, I make jokes through the rest of the game about Fidel Castro being a CIA plant.

I LOVED this game for like 6 months straight. Beat it seven or eight different ways.

It’s jank, and really weird, but the concept is so novel and has never really been done before, and nobody’s tried since either.

The reactivity to your actions in the game is insane. It's part of why the game was so troublesome, but there are few if any games on the market that take into account so many of your actions, attitude and even the order you do the cities in. There are so many different variations of just the ending sequence alone it's pretty crazy. Though of course that's also not perfect, it is Alpha Protocol after all so being broken is normal.

I'm commander shepard and this is my favorite spy mission on the citadel.

It's amazing how many recognizable voices are in this masterpiece of jank.

There is a glitch where if you reload an encounter, all the enemies disapera. Made stealth build much easier to play.

The only thing i remember about this game was getting an achievement for sleeping with every available romantic interest in one playthrough!

"...that puts the 'special' in the special forces." That line itself had me dying

28:02 - The boat's name "ПОБЕДА" ("pobeda" - victory) having two first letters of it's name fall off spelling "БЕДА" ("beda" - trouble/mishap) - is clearly a reference to the old Soviet cartoon Captain Vrungel.

The different endings are wild lol. I remember mine being comically positive. Like friendship is magic levels of good ending lol.
Love this game so much. Such an underrated game at the time that has since been appreciated by everyone I've recommended it to.

I remember the developers touting you could play this as any of 3 “JB” archetypes: James Bond, Jason Bourne, or Jack Bauer.

Alpha Protocol was a cool idea, alas somewhat broken by a dev team having to get it out the door before it was ready.

Man, despite all its gameplay flaws I absolutely LOVED this game when it came out. Just the sheer incredible amount of roleplaying you can do here, and everything fully voiced and decently acted. And the story changes SO MUCH depending on a shitload of your choices. Such a shame it bombed hard and never got a sequel/remake. It's like a Mass Effect game in a James Bond Setting. That could and should be a recipe for a megahit.

No ear piece and no radio confirms my suspicion that the main character is schitzo hearing voices inside his head

15:00 I like how they talked about their plan like 1 foot in front of the guy. "lets let him go and follow him back to the buyer" "he might suspect something" like yeah unless he's deaf

@tai31415 1 year ago

Oh yeah, love that bad guy trope of "No, you killed [innocent person] not me. Sure, I ordered the guy to do it because I don't like what you did/you but that somehow makes it your fault"...
