So the writers hated their dads....we get it.

As a veteran of 1999 teenage shenanigans mixtape represents a cringe 2012 tumblr post more than anything from the 90s

Just watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, while randomly pushing buttons on an unplugged NES controller…. You’ll have a better time!

This game could have been saved if when Cassie finishes her narcissistic rant her dad just arrests her and her stupid friends.

Written and made by people who didn't grow up in the 90s. It's painfully obvious.

No 90s nostalgia was harmed in the making of this theoretical video game.

Larping the 1990s without any understanding of the decade.

Media: GTA is teaching kids to disrespect authority, and become terrorists.
Also Media: ignore the fact that the charterers burns down a house, and threatens the police, who is also their dad.  Its about empowerment.

You know this game was made by people who never lived in the 90s when you see a "cassette tape rewind with a pencil" scene where they spin it in the wrong direction. Not to mention there was no reason to use a pencil to begin with because the tape wasn't slacking.

"Theoretical video game" is a great descriptor for this particular genre of slop.

Not just gaming. Everything that a "modern" western studio touches, it all essentially becomes Mixtape.

> It's a movie game that some how managed to be bad at being both movie and videogame.
> It's about 90s but feels like none of the devs lived through 90s
> They wanted to have that spider verse animation but the game looks like it's stuck at 10 fps
> Protagonist is just as unlikable as the "modern audience" protagonists

What Modern People think this is what the late 90s should look like.

> petty theives
> underage drinkers
> no responsibilities
> no future
> public nuisances
> vandals
> arsons
> spoiled
> narcassists
> refuse to mature
> encourage this behavior
> doing anything to escape consequences

These people would be the villains in any other coming of age story

As a kid born in 1980s and growing up in 90s F this game. IT IS NOT a 1990s game. Its what a post 2010 zoomer who grew up in their billionaire daddies gated suburb thinks the 1990s was like. And what "cool" and "rebelion" means. They obviously have 0 idea. As in high school in most of USA in the 1990s these kids would get beat up

Everyone who tries to rip-off Daria forgets that a big part of the show was that Daria's attitude was detrimental to her life and her relationships with others. The story realized that acting like a sarcastic prick all the time was alienating, even to friends and family.

She had to open up and grow, connecting with people and situations that she would normally disdain.

As someone who grew up in the 90s and had a very tomboy sister, I never once met any “girl” that looked like Stacy, trying to be as genderless as possible. This kind of androgynous trooning did not exists back then. Even tom girls still looked noticeably female.

Was born in the 80s and lived through the 90s, these kids wouldn't have been considered cool and would be called slurs, some mundane and some exotic but they would be called them constantly

Ironically, one of the best things about the 90s was not having to put up with bullshit games like this.
