Wow, thank you JT, that was amazing! My mouth was watering as you were walking around those record stores. This is the second time I half watched this video, it’s superb, really makes me want to visit Japan. First store…the Comsat’s…wow! Some prices high but great stocks! Fantastic JT. Mike
Good for you with that Fun Boy Three. What a banger group! I just found that first FB3. I used to spin that on my midnight record show at WUVT back in the 80s. Hall wrote Our Lips Are Sealed and it's a great og on that lp. I'm after that 2nd one you picked up. I also recently p/u all The Specials cds for my birthday. Great to hear them again after so many years.
Jt There are so many incredible record stores in Japan. I would have loved to spend hours digging through all those 7-inch singles and LPs. So many of the records looked to be in excellent condition. It really speaks to the care and appreciation that so many people in Japan have for their music and their collections
Love seeing Tokyo! Tower records looks great too, hard job you have picking which records to take home . The record at @10:28 looked interesting and looked her up, Gabriella Cohen , she’s 60s dream pop style reminds me of mazzy star. Fun digging for records w you 🎉
Hi JT!!!! Always a nice trip going back to that area of the world and a very "convenient stop" in Tokyo with plenty of time to kill visiting those awesome record store...... and as usual you manage to find great stuff, Hope you had an smooth flight to Bangkok and looking forward to see your scores there!! cheers and be well
I want to go back to Japan! All those sounds and background noises!! I love it. I was eating some umeboshi potato chips while watching video. mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
I was just there and ended up with 29 LPs (incl 2 triples & several doubles) from Tower, Disk Union & HMV. All jazz, prog & classic rock. All used records but two were mint - Sketches of Spain & Fire and Water.
We were in Japan last year and my husband is a huge Kiss fan so he was in paradise!! He found a lot of nice things for his collection including a rare 3 LP bootleg from a creatures of the night show and it was even on sale so t saved some money LOL!! It was a great trip!
Always fun to go on travels with you JT. Overly large stores overwhelm me, I just don’t know where to go. I prefer smaller stores. Green on Red is great, a favorite group from the 80s. Girlfriend from Sweet is one of my all time favorite records. For me it’s a perfect album.
You got some good ones Jt. Our tastes sinc up again. FB3, Gary Brooker, True West, Prine, Case, PIL. All great listens. Never run across Comsat Angels up here. First day in Buffalo, crate dig tomorrow. Cheers brother.
