How do you keep one small room warm during a three-day winter power cut without spending a fortune?
In this video, I show how I would prepare a small room using 11 affordable Poundland items to help retain body heat, reduce draughts, provide safer lighting and make a winter blackout more manageable.
We cover fleece throws, thermal socks, a beanie, gloves and scarf, clear shower curtains, duct tape, tea lights, a small torch, chemical hand warmers, a simple outdoor soup-tin setup, an extension lead, an insulated travel mug and a Mylar emergency blanket.
The goal is simple: concentrate on one room, reduce heat loss and use inexpensive items you can buy before the next cold snap or power cut.
