Fun little fact about Ghidorah: that’s not Lightning he’s spitting. It’s straight up condensed gravity, those soldiers were literally crushed into oblivion
Actually Serizawa's sacrifice is kinda symbolic, because in the Japanese Godzilla film, he sacrificed himself to kill godzilla and save humanity. This Serizawa sacrificed himself to save godzilla and humanity.
According to the novelization of King of the Monsters, Kong DID hear Ghidorah's alpha call, but chose to ignore it because he realized that the Skullcrawlers were reacting to Ghidorah, and were attempting to leave Skull Island, and then a different titan came out in response to Ghidorah. So Kong spent the entire duration of the movie fighting them off and prevent them from leaving Skull Island
Seeing Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and king Ghidorah on the big screen with a modern Hollywood budget and hearing the Godzilla and Mothra themes is every fans dream come true 🔥🔥🔥
If you didn't notice, When Mothra died she released a whole bunch of blue particles that went into Godzilla, Basically giving him the strenght to use the nuclear meltdown as a power. And if you look closely in the nicular blast, You can see Mothras wings in the nuclear pulse
some fun facts: Antarctica has something known as "Blue ice" which is SUPER dense. so it explains how giant monsters can stand on ice without it instantly breaking it.
Mothra is known as Queen of the monsters(and protector of Humanity), becuz in all the other movies shes always helping godzilla or fighting him if he is the enemy in order to protect the humans/planet...she is also somewat immortal as she is reborn with all her memories intake as long as she had laid eggs beforehand for future offspring to basically be her replacements...kinda like a phoenix.
The Japanese twins are mentally linked with Mothra, as their family (just the twins girls) are considered to be Mothra's heralds/messengers and u can see in the movie how they (or the one that survived...) show a weak understanding of Mothra's feelings/intentions and sometimes in the old films depicted as tiny "fairies" inside a clamshell.
The character name "Serizawa", was also the name of the scientist in the old og movies who made the weapon that killed the Original godzilla.
The weapon used on godzilla and Ghidorah is known as the "Oxygen Destroyer" and it was wat killed the 1954 Godzilla and left nothing but its skeletal remains behind in the old movies, but then 20 years later another new Godzilla showed up (millennium godzilla or godzilla 2000) and the "bomb" was also responsible for creating an all new creature that ends up killing the new godzilla known as "Destroyah" and the only way it died was becuz godzilla had a nuclear meltdown or turned orange red like in this movie.
Red Godzilla is known as "burning godzilla" which is godzilla having a nuclear meltdown and going critical mass, which is paying homage the og film of "Godzilla vs Destroyah" where godzilla had to be frozen or he would have destroyed the whole planet if he went off... in the og films theres a "Red Godzilla" (just the energy color being red-ish orange instead of blue) which is just a stronger form and originally was Rodan (the Pterodactyl) who sacrificed themself to protect godzilla and there left over bio energy fused with godzilla and gave him a red energy (becuz og Rodan shot out heatbeams of the same color) but in this film it was Mothra who gave godzilla the powerup and combined both "Red" and "Burning" together and if u watch closely when godzilla shoots out the "shockwave" u can see Mothra's wings patterns in the blast and hear her "Cry/Noise"
Ghidorah or "King Ghidorah" is a fan favorite and indeed an alien monster that was actually sent by aliens & depending on the film, the name/place of the alien's was different, sometimes it was mars by a species known as the "Vorcha" or from "Planet X" and was meant to defeated godzilla and conquer the planet with the help of some other alien monsters known as "Megalon" (a bug monster with drills for hands) and "Gigan" (a weird scaly bird looking monster with hooks/chainsaws for hands and a buzzsaw belly), King Ghidorah himself is Godzilla's equal/archnemesis and had had many versions and even Variants across all the old films, even one where their roles were reversed of godzilla being "Evil" and Ghidorah "good".
All the monsters that showed up at the end to bow to godzilla (except Rodan) are all original monsters made by Legendary Studios and sadly only ever are shown again in the Legendary Comic Books (which i highly suggest checking out if anyone is interested) along with some unique monsters that havent yet appeared on film.
alot of these is from memory, so apologies if its wrong or only slightly correct.
Edited: Fixed alot of wrong info thanks to the comments.
Another thing to know, if nobody's mentioned it yet, is that Ghidorah is based on the ancient myth of the Hydra, a three headed dragon that, if you cut off a head, it grew back two more.
You may be familiar with that myth from the MCUs evil organization named Hydra, and their slogan, "cut off one head, two more grow back".
Fun fact, each of Ghidorah's heads have their own personalities, as well as faces and even names.
Ichi = is the middle head, the most mature, leader of the heads and possibly the body itself, he would be the villain especially in relation to the other heads
Ni = is the head on the right of ghidorah, this is the most aggressive, being the first to attack without thinking twice, in addition to appearing to be irritated by anything
San/Kevin = the head on the left of ghidorah, he is the most immature of the three, being the silliest, curious, distracted, and sometimes a bit cowardly since this is the one who attacks least, I think it's no wonder that the others bully him, his original name is San, but Kevin ended up being the nickname for fans because of his personality, in addition to being the favorite head of many
(I hope I didn't confuse the name with ghidorah's head in the middle and on the right)
Outpost 61 - Mothra's first movie was in 1961 Outpost 56 - Rodan's first movie was in 1956 Outpost 33 - Skull Island - The original King Kong came out in 1933 Outpost 32 - Antarctica - Was a nod to Outpost 31 from John Carpenter's The Thing. The Oxygen Destroyer is the weapon they used to kill Godzilla in the original movie.. the graphic they briefly show looks like the prop from the original film.
I could go on mentioning all the easter eggs.. but I don't have all day!
I love that look Godzilla gives Rodan as the other Titans gather around him after delivering the kill shot on the last Ghidorah head with his Atomic Breath. That look could ONLY mean "Bow down or die." Also, if you don't recognize Dr. Ilene Chen or her sister Ling Chen....their actress, Ziyi Zhang played Hu Li in Rush Hour 2. Also, I LOVE that they recycled the Toho Studios Godzilla theme music and roars for this movie.
Monster Zero’s three heads are Ichi (center) Ni (right) and San (left.) Ichi is the most intelligent of the three. Ni is the most aggressive of the three. San (also known as Kevin) is the least intelligent/most curious of the three.
Fun facts: the facial expressions of Godzilla and Ghodorah were all done with motion capture. Each one of Ghidorah's heads was also given a name by the filmmakers: the middle head, which is the one in charge, is called Ichi, the head on the left is called Nee, and the head on the right is San. Ichi, Nee, and San, of course, is 1,2, and 3 in Japanese. San was also called "Kevin", I have no idea why, it's just a name they have him XD.
