Love how Oblivion Remastered got the majority vote on Twitter and you decided to cover this game anyways. You're so real for that lmao

Every time Bin Laden comes back into the analysis, just enough time had passed that I forgot he's why we're talking about this game.

I choose to believe that Bin Laden didn't have a copy of Tiberian Sun, just the strategy guide, so he sat there reading through it over and over again, thinking how he was going to be so good at that game once he gets out...

Seeing command and conquer footage always makes me laugh, i never really played them but when the pandemic started I met Kane (named Joe IRL) in real life because it turns out he was my landlord

Fun fact: the Kodiak is in the final fleet shot in the final episode of modern Battlestar Galactica.

One of the reasons of the decline of the classic RTS imho, was ongoing synergisation of console and pc gaming. In the 90s pc gaming and console gaming were so far apart from each other they were basically diametric. Games were made either for PC or for Console and then if you were lucky ported to the other side later on for a quick buck. Nowadays the only difference between PC and Console as plattforms is the amount of shader and resolutions to run with and the types of game genres homogenized. RTS with its hyper focus on keyboard and mouse control and high number of small on screen objects which requires for you to sit closer to the screen was a victim of this change

What if we returned to slavjank together? What would Todd Howard say then?

Tiberian Sun is so awesome because it is post apocalypse but also post scarcity. Thanks to endless easy access to rare earth minerals and in game lore massive on site 3D printing humans both live in Star Trek world of endless resources but also fallout style post apocalypse hostile envirionment. It is amazing.

HASAN IS LEADING NOD !?!?!?!???! NEXT YOU ARE TELLING ME VAUSH IS GOING BACK IN TIME TO KILL EINSTEIN...

My cousin and I love your vids bro, you are literally a cultural landmark of our friend group, keep the good work, greetings from Cuba

Respect to Warlockracy
Unlike many that try to play TS he realized you can change the game speed to your liking in the options menu

Why wasn't C&C Generals in bin Laden's compound?

The sorrow i felt when he didn't say "thus the name" at the Tiber river part

One of my most important experiences when I was a teenager, was when original C&C first GDI mission took place in Estonia, Pärnu, my hometown. My little noggin was blown after that.

This is the best FO2 mod you've reviewed yet.

"Scientists later named it Tiberium" oh, someone is slurping GDI propaganda!
It was named after Tiberius Drusus Caesar by Kane!

Bin Laden was trying to understand how a bearded cult leader could be so successful.

Of all EA's many victims, Westwood still hurts the most. Love went into C&C, you can see it in every detail. We genuinely didn't know how good we had it back then.

Excellent work on this one.  TibSun is unique, especially in its map design.  Its missions told a story about what was happening to the world, and the environment itself was a hostile element for the player to manage.  You point out the contrast between the high technology of GDI and the post-apocalyptic feel of several locations, and that's not something you get very often, certainly not in RTS.  It's a very memorable aesthetic, and stuff like Brigador always reminds me of it.

Anyway, thanks as always for the work you put into these videos!  As much as it hits the nostalgia button, there's still lessons to learn from these old games.

When Joe Cucan mentioned that C&C4 is gonna be a musical he'll be singing in, the horrific truth is that he actually meant it almost literally.

R.I.P., Westwood, the team who not only challenged the RTS flagship at the time but also made Nox, the one game to not blindly follow in Diablo 2's footsteps like most hack&slash ARPGs seemed to for the good two decades (granted, Sacred 1 and Titan Quest and more recently Path of Exile were quite good at it), but instead made what's effectively an isometric high-octane magic-fueled action game with extremely good multiplayer on top (safe for the crossbow snipers).
