"I don't know why it's so charming!" says Tarantino as Sally Fields puts her bare foot on the dashboard.

Dude was a legend. No doubt

The editor knew what he was doing.

2:00 - "I dont know why its so charming" A+ broll choice if there ever was one LOL

Burt’s character being sidelined in Deliverance adds to the futility felt by the characters and the audience.  It makes us feel even more vulnerable and helpless than we already do in this scenario.  I think it’s well-played.

Just saw Burt’s grave at Hollywood Forever this Sunday. Such a bummer as someone who grew up with Smokey and the Bandit and all his fun movies.

burt killed it in boogie nights

I can remember every theater I saw  a movie in when I was a kid because there's only 2 theaters in my town and one showed all the new stuff

His anti-authority attitude appealed to Boomers, his DGAF appealed to Xers. His Ferris Bueller-like land on his feet characters appealed to everyone.

I think Burt would've been great as Max Cherry in Jackie Brown. No disrespect to Robert Forster.

Quentin Tarantino is such a film nerd unlike any other director and the way he can reel of small details of films is amazing

Deliverance was THE scariest horror movie, for me

Really liked Reynolds in Sharkys machine. Way he says to mobster he is fuckin up the City.WOW.

Longest Yard was quality

Deliverance, The Longedt Yard, Smoky and the Bandit, and White Lightning are the best of the best Burt Reynolds movies.

I totally agree on sideling Burt in the movie. I was devastated when Burt got hurt!

The first Cannonball Run- was so funny to me as a kid. Watching it now…. It’s completely goofy. 😂😂😂😂

It's them that made it charming and not taking itself too seriously

Sally Field was super pretty in SATB.

Why do we love Smokey and the Bandit.  Because life in America wasn't the same after the 1970s ended.  I don't have the words, its just visceral, you can feel it in your marrow.  I was b.1974,December.  I only remembered so much from the late 70s, but as the early '80s progressed, and the mid-80s, it always felt to me like I missed out on something by a few years.  A & W drive-ins,  and more, i missed out.  I hear stories from others, i can see it in 70s movies.  If you weren't effected by the economy, job losses,  it sure looks like it was a great time to be alive.....and people older than me make it sound that way too.  Even as a kid in the early  80s, i jist intuitively had this feeling,  "is it just me, or did i just miss the end of when life in America was really cool"
